Re: separate ceremony and reception theme ideas- need opinions

  • I wouldn't have a theme...more of just a party to celebrate afterward.  BTW, I think what you are doing is fine, as long as you don't call your second party at home a "reception".  Also, I think that the guests that want to go to Hawaii with you will, and the guests that don't simply won't, just like any other destination wedding.  I'm sure you realize that already and are totally fine with it, as it is your wedding and I'm sure you thought this all through.  It's too bad that people actually come on these boards for advice and the mean girls here just scare them away.
  • Since when did weddings become theme parties? I mean, shouldn't the theme be "Getting Married"?

There's a world of difference between deliberate rudeness toward someone and simply disagreeing with someone's idea, or pointing out that it would be rude to their guests. Unfortunately, many brides who come to the boards with shitty, rude ideas are apparently too simple to understand the distinction.

@cantwaitforthefuture - You might've missed it, but the OP originally came on here telling us what we couldn't post to her (I quoted it directly under the OP).  You can't dictate how people post on a public forum.  That's rude.  And as such, she was told so accordingly.

If you're new and you want to feel welcomed and get answers, don't create threads and basically tell us we're rude.  I guarantee you that will never go over well.
