No longer hiding in the weekend thread!
FI (yay!) & I got engaged this weekend!
We've talked about having a super short engagement forever...sooooooo if it works out we're looking at May or June. We have a *lot* of work to do between now and then, but we've got this!
ETA - Storytime!
We went out for dinner and had just arrived at the restaurant. I open the door and get out of the car and he says "Hey." all nonchalantly. So I turn around and he's still sitting there with his door closed. I look down and he's holding out the ring in his hand and he says "You should marry me." I promptly jumped back in the car and started kissing him, knees in the seat, feet kicked out the door, snow pouring in. It felt so surreal, like a scene from a movie.
It was super simple and so...him. The "You should marry me." line has significance to us, typically applied lightheartedly to one of our many discussions revolving marriage that we've had over the past few years.
