Informal Brunch Wedding

Hey all!

My fiancé and I are looking into possibly having our reception be brunch -- we are both not interested in a super-formal occasion, but a more relaxed atmosphere with less traditions and less hype.  We are also interested in being able to have the time to relax and talk with people, instead of rushing around and making sure every little detail is perfect.  Are there any recommendations for places in North NJ that do brunch?  We aren't even really interested in having a "wedding ceremony", more just an exchanging of vows (like ten minutes) and then having a party (all in the same room, preferably).  I know places that usually do weddings would probably be more interested in having us just sign up for a wedding package during a more typical time, but after some thinking this is definitely more of what we want.

Any help would be fabulous!

  • I would check out The Brownstone, or similar places that have smaller rooms available.  Also try restaurants that have private rooms as well.

  • Boulevard Five72 in Kenilworth has an amazing brunch with unlimited mimosas, bloody mary's and bellinis and they have a private room that I believe holds 150.

My sisters are having my bridal shower there and the food is amazing and I know the cost is like $40 a person plus tax and gratuity.
  • I second Boulevard Five72.  They have a great upstairs space for both a ceremony and holding all your guest.  I am secretly pushign this also for my bridal location...its just a great place.

  • The Place on the Lake had a nice Brunch Wedding menu and the venue is gorgeous. We didn't go with them as they were a little out of our price range.
