Boots!

Re: Boots!

  • I'm not sure how much insoles cost from a podiatrist, but I assume it would be cheaper overall to just get a good pair of insoles rather than buying new shoes, which may turn out to not work for you anyways. One of my friends has the opposite problem, she has very flat feet and needs insoles, and just switches them out for her shoes.

Not necessarily - my podiatrist also wanted to make me custom insoles and they would have cost me $500+ because my insurance won't cover them unless I have diabetes.

I've got high arches too and I've found that insoles typically don't work for me - they make my foot too high in the shoe and the shoes won't fit. The only pair of flat shoes I own are a pair of Sperry's. All my boots have a 1 to 1.5 inch heel (I generally wear Bandolino riding boots) and that tends to be the most comfortable for me.
  • Thanks for all the input and suggestions, ladies! I ordered two pairs of Naturalizer boots to start off, so I can test em and see how they feel. I checked out some of the other brands but they either didn't make boots or were out of my price range. Hopefully these will work so I can be done searching!

  • Good work, I hope you like them! I have t-strap pumps from Naturalizer and they are heavenly. Every time I go in their outlet, I'm the youngest by 30 years in there and I don't even care!
