I'm getting married in June I have no idea where to begin looking for my dress. Any suggestions I have a budget and do not want to go over $1000. Help please!!!

Re: Where to buy my Dress?????

  • You have a short time line for a wedding dress.  First, I would suggest going to the Goodwill Bridal sale this Saturday in Pennsauken.  They have a huge blowout on dresses, most of which are donated samples and never worn before.  There is a post a few down by frugalbridephilly that links the article about the sale.

Next, if you don't want to go that route, I would call around to local bridal shops and ask if they can sell you any samples gowns.  Some places might be getting ready to move out old samples for the next year and you could score a great deal.

You could always try Rent the Runway.  I think they have some wedding dresses available to rent now.

Lastly, David's Bridal and I think Alfred Angelo both have huge selections of dresses and sizes in store.  Usually your dress will come in with a few months or less, even if they don't have your size and style in stock.  You will be less likely charged any rush fee for any dress that needs to be ordered.  I think, of all your choices, David's Bridal will be your best bet to get a dress.

    Good luck!
  • In June 2016 just to clarify that a rush isn't necessary.
  • Oh, then you have TONS of time to get your dress!  I did buy my dress in Macy's Bridal in Cherry Hill.  They have Demetrios bridal gowns.  They should have a good selection of dresses in your budget.  Also, they pretty routinely have trunk shows, which will give you an extra 20% off your dress.  If you check Demetrios' website, they have a page that will give you the dates of their upcoming trunk shows.
  • Wedding Belles in Northfield is amazing!  They have tons of great dresses in a variety of price ranges.  I went during an end of season sale and literally saved $1000.00 plus walked out with my dress the same day.
  • I went to Sales Unlimited in Bayville. My dress was originally 3k and a one of a kind-designer did one dress, one time and it was the one the shop had. I paid $1200 for it and its absolutely gorgeous!
  • I got my allure bridal dress at Tesi Bridal in Northfield, last year during Memorial day weekend....50% off all samples and 20% off all orders. Mine happened to be a sample in perfect condition. Otherwise I would have never spent $1700 on a dress, as I wanted to spend $1,000 also. So, keep in mind sample sales and sales in general!
