Welcome bags

I'm looking to make welcome bags for our families coming to the beach for the week for our wedding. I plan to have one in each bedroom upon everyone's arrival. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as things to put in them? I found these super cute flip flop bottle openers at a craft store but so far that's all I've got. Also, is there anything unique to the outer banks that would be cool to put in them? Thank you!

Re: Welcome bags

  • Hi- we didn't do welcome bags but some suggestions would be OBX Kettle Corn, salt water taffy, maybe something from Try My Nuts? For our favor, we did a bag of brittle bark made from our hometown to try to keep things local, so maybe you could do something from your home as well? Include the Sunny Day Guides as well, I've been told you can get them ahead of time. Depending on what time of the year your wedding is, maybe suntan lotion?

We actually had bought sand buckets to do our "welcome gifts" in, but then our budget didn't allow for the cost of all of the items.

  • I definitely like the idea of including something that is local to you. I am from VA, so we did little bags of peanuts and my H is from Iowa, so we did bags of popcorn. We also had mini bottles of water, taffy in our wedding colors, Godiva truffles (my sister in law used to work there and handed me a massive box, otherwise I would t have paid for that!), Sunny Day Guide like Kel mentioned, brochures from NC Welcome Center and a few other goodies that I can't seem to recall. We also did a Welcome Bag template that included info about welcome dinner BBQ, rehearsal and wedding info. We also included our phone numbers, a cute story about us and cute games about our favorite stuff. Skip a couple pages back on this forum, maybe around 2010-2012 and you'll find other posts about welcome bags and what people included.
