I have the philosophy that you shouldn't say anything on social media that you wouldn't want your boss, mom, or pastor to see.

I don't know if this is true, but I heard somewhere that there was software or something that an employer could purchase to see your social media accounts, even if it was private? Idk.
There was, I don't know if there still is because people were getting into lawsuits about the implications of invasion of privacy. I knew someone whose job was to use that software and check on potential/current employees, but this was several years ago.
Yeah, I remember hearing that when I was in high school and just graduating. I didn't know if it was 100% true or if it was still around.
Our law firm just acquire software that will do discovery of people's social media accounts.  So yes, it's not just employers who can check your accounts, but also anyone who may be filing a lawsuit against you too.  There are probably many possibilities of use for something like this.
Remember my rafting accident last year?  Yeah, we keep that off social media.

I'm assuming a law suit will be coming.    We didn't do anything wrong and shouldn't be a defendant.  But we sure as hell will be witnesses.  I don't want to be called for saying something I wrote 9 months ago.

I was pretty cautious what I said on here too.  You just never know and it's not worth it.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • my co worker could not figure out why i was laughing so hard at this. like seriously how stupid can someone be.

I love the "first amendment" claims. Instant idiot detector.
First amendment defenders are almost always the most hilarious. This drove me crazy when the duck dynasty guy was under fire, too.
I was ready to throttle people over that shit. I had all these people showing up in my newsfeed crying "What happened to freedom of speech and freedom of religion!!!".

Not a damn thing, they're still there and alive and well. It's just, you don't actually understand them.
  • I don't list where I work on Facebook and I don't friend coworkers.  Period.  Ever.

Even with that I still don't say anything negative about my job on Facebook.  The most I'll do is write a post if something funny happened, or something super witty was said, or if something awesome happened (like the hilarious epic prank I pulled on the owner of the company involving his briefcase and a cut and paste ransom note).

I may not like my job at all that much but I love my paycheck, I love my manager and I have a lot of respect for the owner.  Not screwing up that.

I'm friends with my mom, mom's friends, aunts and all my nieces/nephews among others.  I'm even friends with my stupid boss' son (more to check on him).   I have no filters, do not block anyone from any post.

Everything I post everyone I'm friends with can see.     I post pretty sunset pictures. Pictures of the dogs.   Comments on the red carpet dresses. That we are moving or traveling. How bad the Eagles are playing. Xgames, skiing. Stuff like that.

I do not post about my health, DH's health, my job (unless it's "get to go to NOLA on a business trip"), DH's job.   I do not post that I'm drunk or pictures of us wasted.

Basically if there is even one person I would not want to see a post it just doesn't get posted.   I've got text messaging for that.
Exactly.  Being responsible on social media is not a difficult concept to grasp, and I'm in my early twenties.
