1. Our good friend's dad passed away Monday. It was sudden, but not completely unexpected (he'd been in declining health for years). I guess he (our friend) was at the hospital all day with his dad and his dad seemed to be OK/improving, he left to go home for the night, barely got in the door when his mom called him to come back immediately, and his dad died before he got there.
DH is really torn up for him.
2. One of my best friends was attacked while she was running last night. She said the guy was hiding behind a large pine tree and jumped out at her. She thankfully had her dog and her pup jumped on him and scared him off. Not that anyone needs this, but this is the last thing she needs. Her daughter is having surgery next week and she's having some health concerns herself. Running is her stress release.
3. Same old, same old...DH's job sucks. He's never not going to work 6 days a week and 12 hours/day M-F. I told him last night that IDGAF right now if he gets let go. I would take the $$ stress over the bullshit. Work is offering tons of OT right now, so we could make it work. One of the new supervisors that started this week hasn't given his old job notice yet (he's a weekend manager)...H doesn't think he's going to stick it out (which we can't blame him...ha). He's supposed to take over one of the teams DH is managing. So that would mean that DH will be stuck with double the work for even longer.
4. A friend of a friend's son is missing. He's a freshman in HS. I only met the mom a couple times. I hope they find him. Ugh. We had a chat with the kiddo (inspired by 6's nephew's situation) the other night about how hard his ass would be kicked if he ran off.
