That's really obnoxious. Not to mention rude.

A little different but a girl I'm friend's with on FB sells Herbalife stuff or whatever. They do dietary supplements/weight loss pills/wraps. She posted a picture on Instagram of a scale at 150 lbs and made a collage with weekly progress. Going down to 120 in 6 weeks.

Someone commented on it and said, "Dang Steph, you were a fatty." And she was serious. In what fucking universe is 150 lbs fat?!

In short people world. I'm 5 foot even. I'd love to get down to 150 but I still would need to lose about another 22 lbs to be in a healthy weight range!

But, it's still incredibly rude to make that sort of comment! Body issues don't just disappear after weight loss, they are still there and I'm sure it hurt your friend's feelings. That person is an ass.

I would like to punch that person in the junk. If I weighed 150 pounds with my body type, I would look like Skeletor with tits.
It is all so dependent on height and body type. I'm about 5'5" and more on the "curvy" side. 150 lbs is completely normal and healthy for me to be at a size 6-8. I have a friend who is 5'2", her at a size 6 is about 130-135 lbs. It all varries.

    In the female universe.

I was watching an episode of Bones (like...season 1 or 2 it was an earlier episode) and the victim was 5'8 and Bones says to Angela "You're 5'8, how much do you weigh" and Angela is like "Um, 128 (or something close to that)...but most of it is muscle!" and I'm like....you're 5'8...that's a lower weight for someone of your height.

I think all women are supposed to weigh in at 100lbs. And be a size 0.

But also have an ass like Beyonce. And I'm not sure how to do those 2 things at once.
I'm tall and muscular and I think I would be long dead if I weighed less than 140

Yeah, I'm 5'2" and 151 and my doc and my insurance company both want me to lose weight. It really depends on the person. My BFF is 5'6" and I feel like she would look emaciated at 151. We have very different body types.

I remember that episode! I specifically remember rolling my eyes at that line and thinking I would kill to look like her. I hate that the media basically tells all women they should be ashamed of their bodies - it doesn't matter if you're fat or skinny, you could the fittest, leanest, sexiest body in the world and the media is still going to tell you to be self-conscious about it.

The worst part was that the scale and results were of a client of hers, not her results. So this girl comments about how a client used to be fat at 150 lbs.

  • Commenting about my food, my weight, my body in a negative way is off limits.

That's the thing - it's mine. No one else has the right to tell you anything about something that has no bearing in their life.

So you've decided to count your calories. Good for you! I am very happy for you and your calorie counting abilities.

What I'm not happy about is the fact that you feel the need to announce the caloric content of everything I'm eating. If I want to know, I will look on the package. You do not need to announce it loudly. If I care, I will keep track of it myself. No need to shame me because I just treated myself to five (yes, five) servings of gummy candy. Also, you are about ten sizes bigger than I am so obviously the diet & exercise choices I've made on my own aren't treating me too badly.

    End rant.
Ok, you know I'm totally with you here, no one should be making any comments on your food choices. It's total bullshit.

But someone's size doesn't mean their eating habits and exercise habits are healthy/unhealthy.
I totally typed this in a ragey moment. I'd get pissy about anyone commenting on my caloric intake --- I didn't mean to come across as judgey toward the calorie-counter.

    I figured you didn't.
