I don't think there is anything wrong with giving Visa gift cards though.

I second this - would it be possible to find out your BM's favorite restaurants and get them gift cards there? I'd be happy with a Visa gift card too, but if the intention is to send them to dinner "on you," then it may be worthwhile to do a little digging to find out where they like to eat. If I received a Visa gift card, in all honesty I would probably spend it on groceries or something boring (I would definitely appreciate it, though!)
