I couldn't even make it past the first 10 comments.  There were a FEW sane people commenting, but not many.

Knotties just want people to be proud of their marriage- however that happens, JOP, church, whatever.  And if you are going to have a PPD, at least be straight up about it BEFORE you go inviting people.

Lurkers, OWN YOUR CHOICES.  You may not LIKE the choices you have, but you still have them.

You may not LIKE having to give up the big fancy event in favor of a dying parent being able to witness the actual union, and you don't have to.  You also don't HAVE to have a rushed even to accommodate said dying father- you can go on as planned for the big event.  In neither case does someone have a gun to your head. You have choices; even if some of them aren't to your liking.  That's life ladies; welcome to it.
