What is your invite inspiration?

What's everyone thinking to do for invites?  DIY?  Etsy? Other?

Anyone place an order yet?  If so, from where?

What's your timeline for your invites?

I am most likely going to place an order from an Etsy vendor.  I am all about modern, sassy, and romantic styles.  So I am looking for a simple clean design with a twist with a romantic font.  The invite does not have to be in one of my wedding colors.

I am going to make my deposit by the end of February with the hope of getting my invites sometime in April/early May.  Orders for the high wedding season (April - June) are going in now so I am thinking if I order now even in my orders come in late May I am still ahead.

I plan to send my invites out in early June with a RSVP date for August 1st.  EDIT: My wedding date is 9/5.  My count is due to several vendors by 8/15.

FI insists on formal invitations on white card stock with black, raised writing.
We will place an order for invites after we finalize our menu in April.  We will most likely go through The Paper Store.
Edited bc I didn't reply to your timeline q.  We will send out the invites in early June, w an RSVP date of the first or second week of Aug.  Our wedding is 9/26 and final head count w payment is due 2 weeks before the wedding.
  • My SIL who is my MOH is a graphic designer. She designed and had them printed for us and then ending up gifting us the cost of it. She's amazing.

We wanted simple and clean, with a more laid back feel rather than modern.

We ended up with white cardstock, with a teal gerber daisy on its stem and another half open daisy. With the wording in teal and brown. I love them. They are crisp and clean and uncluttered and incorporate our wedding flower and colour.

  • Hi...We are having our invitations done by a graphic designer (who is a client of mine). They are going to be the "pocket Invites"...since my dress is cream they will be a pearl ivory with a mocha writing.
I liked the simpleness of the pocket style invites. FI does not care. We have a meeting in a few weeks to do the whole process.

They are like the picture below

I'm DIYing using a local printing company... I'm using a pic to cover the whole outside and doing the tie the knot thing with the string on the inside... Since everyone keeps saying "gosh, y'all FINALLY tying the knot!" Lol will start in late April to have them ready to go out by June hopefully have them RSVPd by 1st of Aug

Still finalizing Save the Dates to hopefully get sent out in the next couple weeks... my MOH is making them (she was dying to, she loves to do crafty things).  These are basically the idea: http://thenaturalweddingcompany.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/tying_the_knot_rustic_save_the_dates.jpg

Invites will also be mostly of the DIY variety, and so far these are the ones that have been catching my eye the most... you just buy the design file and then print and add embellishments (if any) ourselves.  https://www.etsy.com/listing/177484366/rustic-inspired-printable-wedding?ref=br_feed_22&br_feed_tlp=weddings

Our wedding is a casual barn affair so I'm liking the Kraft paper look.
