I know about the orchids, and I suffered when I asked for them. But they are some of the only flowers I like. I looked at some look alikes and didn't like them as much and they would be out of season so it would be expensive anyway.

I talked to her today about switching the table arrangement for the sweetheart table to a vase to hold my bouquet and she loved the idea. And we are lowering the tall to 9 and doing 5 not as tall. Fi re-worked the budget and it turns out we have more available than we thought but now we are kinda freaking out because the government is trying to implement a new tax system which will increase all taxes in the next 2 months and that could blow our budget.

With the new changes we would only be saving about $185

She also found us a great DJ riend of her that will do the DJing and lights for $450

  • Is that really a single calla lily for a BM for $20?  I know they are expensive flowers, but $20 for 1 calla lily sounds crazy.  Could you change the BM bouquets to something cheaper?  How about a few sprays of baby's breath each?  Then you could put all of the bouquets at your sweetheart table.

For the decor on our sweetheart table was candles and then vases to hold all of the BMs bouquets, so the flowers did double duty.

I hadn't realized that! I just sent her an email back to see if we can can make a small bouquet for the same price ($20 using other flowers) and use them to also decorate the sweetheart table. to give an effect like this

  • So, I think her orchid centerpiece prices are reasonable for what you are getting. I just wanted to throw out an idea that I am using for our centerpieces. I wanted floral, and I love orchids, but didn't want to spend a ton. I am getting two cases (10 plants per case) of in bloom orchid plants from Whole Foods at $15 per plant. They come in a clay pot with a plastic liner, so the plant can easily be removed from the clay pot. I am going to put them into square glass vases (6 inch ones) and then have votives around them. Idea is for it to be something like attached photo.

Now, I don't know if you are attached to a certain type of orchid, and we are doing the basic moth-orchid ones, but one of the great things, I felt, is that guests can take the plants home and enjoy the blooms for the next weeks or even months (despite my ill-treatment usually orchid plants continue to bloom for a couple months for me). Plants, vases, votives, and wax led candles (we can't have flames, so I had to spring for more expensive wax leds that looked more real) are going to be about $31 per table. I thought that was a super good deal for something I really like the look of.

  • @badbnagdway Those are lovely! I wanted to water vases more than the flowers so thats why the combination. But I am still working on some arrangement to see if it can be a more for the same price in the same vision. Thanks for the idea!I have one of those at home!
