What should I send these people??

A close friend of ours is having foot surgery Monday. I think it would be nice to send him something, but I don't think flowers are right. What else can you send to a man?

I also would like to send my college friend something since she just got engaged. When we moved into our house she sent us some cookies and I was so touched by that. Would flowers be appropriate for this occasion?

  • Is there an Edible Arrangements where they live? Everyone loves food.

Yay anything food related! Maybe have a pizza delivered to his house? And a cookie bouquet for your newly engaged friend. That'll help with the wedding dress shopping

Pizza, beer and cupcakes for the foot surgery dude, because food and booze is good.

For the newly engaged friend, again, you can't go wrong with food, so some cupcakes or a nice box of chocolates.

Harry and David has a ton of food related gifts - snacks, fruits, candy, etc. Always good for a special occasion or just to let someone know you're thinking of them.

ETA: For the friend having surgery, bringing over a meal that he can heat up in the microwave might be helpful. Or if he's going to be laid up for a while, maybe bring over a book, movie, etc. that you think he might enjoy.

Besides food, how about some magazines if he's going to be off his feet for a while?
