Cheery processional music

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for cheery processional music that would be appropriate for playing on an organ.  I don't want anything incredibly common, like Wagner or that sort of thing.  I would really like it to be joyful and happy and not dull sounding.

Religious or classical music is fine.  Oh, and if it's Baroque, it's even better.

  • Somewhere over the rainbow or Oh heavenly Day
  • it might just be "heavenly Day"
  • Thank you for your suggestion.  I would prefer an older piece of music, if possible.

"Ode to Joy" by Beethoven (aka the hymn "Joyful, Joyful").

Morning Has Broken (in most hymnals)

Not especially "cheery" but "Hymn" by Vangelis.

Might be a little too lively, "Spring" by Vivaldi

Or the oft used "Canon in D" by Pachelbel

I think you can find them all on You Tube
  • I like a lot of those, but I feel things like "Ode to Joy" and "Canon in D" are a little over used.  (Although I like "Ode to Joy" enough I might consider it anyway.)

"Spring" isn't too lively at all.  Actually, I think that's a brilliant idea.  I'm liking the idea of using all or mostly Baroque pieces, so that fits in nicely.

I've always loved "Morning Has Broken" so I'll be considering using that, too.  It just makes me happy.

    Thank you ever so much.
