S.O.S.

Does anyone ever frequent your local board and want to send everyone to the etiquette board? If you know where I'm from, go pay a visit. There are a few super helpful and awesome posters, and then a few who think (insert city here) is the one place all etiquette falls to the wayside because it's (insert city here). Some posters have great ideas and are really receptive, others not so much. *headdesk*

  • Oh man. I have been reading a bunch of that this week too and some of it is terrible.

Having a DW in a fun city doesn't mean you get to be a bad host. Ugh.

  • Why is it that when we hear the worst etiquette stories it's always about DWs? I mod over on the DW board and that board is an etiquette nightmare. I've been going back and forth with DW brides on there about symbolic ceremonies. it's a mess.

  • I lurked over there - good read. One question, I saw QFT on a post and have seen it before recently. What does it stand for?
  • After like the 7th "lol" randomly thrown into a sentence for no reason I got the hell out of there.

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

Maybe I'm being dense, but what does that mean? Is that like 'come to Jesus'?

It means you're just repeating what was said because it's true and deserves to be said again. No need to write a new comment, just quote the truth.

I'm there with you.  Because DW's are different, and we really wanted a pretty beach and foreign medicine will give me Ebola with their horrible practices and you don't know me anyway.

Plus, all of my guests really wanted to take a  vacation and who better than I to pick their vacation destination for them?

  • I think a lot of (but certainly not all) DW brides choose DWs in the first place because they think they're entitled to an even more specialy special day than everyone else, so they're sort of self-selected as extra snowflakey.

My local board is DEAD. I don't go on my month board because they're all on top of their shit and it makes me feel like a slacker hahaha.

I only head over there once every couple of weeks. I really can't take it sometimes.

We used to have a bunch of regs on there that kept everyone in line, but most of them left when it became Snowflakeageddon. I really can't blame them. Most of them had been married for a year or two and were kind of itching to move on anyway. You can only talk about specific venues and caterers for so long before you get bored (another reason I don't head over there very often).
  • I have never been to my local board. Now I'm scared, but fascinated.
  • Looks like I spoke too soon.

I'm in serious need of etiquette backups right about now.
