Processional Music

Please feel free to move this post if I am in the wrong board, this is the closest I could find.

I am getting married in July. I have a very small chapel booked that is rather perfect for my wedding. But now I'm in a quandary. With such a short Isle for me to walk down, I need an equally short bridal entrance piece.

I know I want a classical piece - something truly beautiful. But it needs to be 2 minutes or less. I am considering a condensed version of Pachelbels Canon - if I can find a good one. Does anyone else have any suggestions or ideas? Please help!

It could be longer I guess if I had the rest of the wedding party enter with it as well, then I come in at a point where the music picks up or changes in some way.

Re: Processional Music

  • You'll just need someone to cut the song off when you get to the altar. Most people don't have 4-7 minute processionals!

  • Mine was Air on a G String, JS Bach. It's such a beautiful piece.

    I can't hear this name without giggling. I am a grown-up.

  • My musicians ended the processionals (the wedding party one and mine) as appropriate. If you're not having musicians, your sound operator/DJ/coordinator should be the one to fade out the music.

  • Are you having musicians? Ours were able to end and start the processionals without any issues. They had great timing and it was one less thing for me to worry about. I walked down to Pachelbels Canon. My MOH and FG walked down to Largo by Handel. The transitions were flawless. If you're not having musicians, perhaps this is something you can talk with your DJ about.
