Wedding Woes

Whoa! Wednesday.

Re: Whoa! Wednesday.

  • I wish I got to travel more - most of my projects are outside of TX, so I spend almost all of time time on the phone with these people. It would be nice to meet them in person and actually tour the job sites/see things progressing. We've both taken a few business trips in Wolverine's 4+ years, and it's nice getting the time away. DK (lucky duck) is likely going to be spending some time in Europe this year .

Have to say that I don't always love the whole "single parent" experience for those weeks (because DK is an awesome dad and does a lot around the house), but I always try to make sure we have some fun when I'm the one at home. (Like a dinner out or a night at Monkey Joe's/CEC)

I also have a coworker who asked another coworker if she's ever concerned that her husband will molest their daughter because it's something that's always at the back of her own mind when she thinks about her husband with their children. I almost vomited in pure disgust and upset at that.

ETA:  I keep coming back to this to re-read it.  I don't even know what to say.  Did anyone ask her WTF she's married to the guy if she thinks this is a real concern?

What in the hell is that. What. No.

Also, I'm as judgy as the next person - okay, way moreso - but you do you. What works for your family works for your family. Just because it might not work for my family doesn't mean it's wrong. And while I'm at home a lot, I'm also not at home at regular times - I work weekends and nights and shit. If I didn't have a partner, I couldn't do what I do and contribute to the family in the way that I'm able - and Bacon wouldn't get to have that bonding time, either. I'm judgy about women who won't let their husbands bond with their kids, yo.

Also, I'm really happy I got to reply. :D

Holy Hell - that was my first thought as well. Why would you marry someone and procreate with them if you thought they were a child molester?!
  • .Also, how did the coworker respond to the question?  @thejucheidea
  • My coworker who was asked by the coworker with creepy husband was like 'what the fuck NO I never think about that' and the coworker with creepy husband was like 'oh, okay'.

He's also the one who told her that she wasn't allowed to go out with coworkers after work to a downtown Nashville because if she did, she'd get raped.

They sound like a cavalcade of WTFness.

I'm so sorry for their kid(s).

I can't even handle listening to her talk about him. I used to call my dad sobbing every day after work and even went to supervisors about the things she said, but our direct supervisor said that unless she showed up to work with noticeable injuries or came to her asking for help, she couldn't do anything.

Isn't that hostile work environment if what you're saying is upsetting/offensive to someone?

    Who watches him?

I used to get this when DD was small and I traveled--not even that often, but yeah.  "Oh, then who has the baby now?"  Once I was so annoyed I was like "Oh shit!  I don't know!"  And the dude thought I was serious.
