Bridal Shower

My FMIL threw me a beautiful bridal shower yesterday and it was great!

I honestly was VERY nervous about it because I don't like being the center of attention (I know, I know, get over it loveislouder, you're getting married and all attention will be on you!) but it was great! I arrived and they gave me food (YAY!) and then we sat and chatted for a bit, and then opened gifts.

After gifts, FMIL had everyone write down words of wisdom for me and FI. Some of them were awesome just like, don't go to bed angry, laugh lots. My FI's aunt's words of wisdom? "If all else fails, get naked!!"  That made my life better.

I had a great time and just wanted to tell everyone about it.

How was everyone else's weekend?

    That sounds a lot like my shower! I was dreading being the focus but my mom made it super fun. We did the words of advice/wisdom too and some of them were hilarious - "always let him win at monopoly" ... "always spoon before and after forking" ... It's one of my favorite keepsakes from the shower!!

    What kind of food did you have? Because... food.

    I think I'm going to start a scrapbook. Now I just have to learn how to scrapbook lol

    We had little sandwiches (tuna and egg salad so I didn't eat those lol), crab dip, spinach dip, little cupcakes, apple tarts, butter tarts, lemon tarts, a fruit tray, a veggie tray, wine, tea, coffee... and other things I'm sure I'm forgetting.

    We did something like this for our guestbook.  People wrote down notes or advice on these little wooden hearts we keep in a vase.  Among my favorites:
    "Husband, never leave the toilet seat up."
    "You have a lot of pretty bridesmaids."
    "When he won't shut up about baseball, just get naked." (My husband was working in the baseball industry at the time)
    "Be a great listener and you'll always love what you hear from each other."
    "It's good luck to have a little rain on your wedding day. A wet knot is harder to untie."
    "Wishing you many years of happiness. Please do not fuck it up."
