Save the Dates... Magnets or regular cards?

Hi everyone! I was just wondering what the in thing is now. And what everyone is doing. Are you all sending save the date cards as magnets for people to put on their refrigerators? Or are you sending regular save the dates on a card form type of paper? My mom told me that the magnet seems to be more in style lately but I really wasn't sure. I think they're doing it both ways. What are you all doing?

Re: Save the Dates... Magnets or regular cards?

  • We went back and forth with the idea but in the end we went with postcards...and the postage for postcards are less...but not why we picked them.
  • I wasn't sure what to do either.

We wound up doing magnets and were happy with them.  A lot of people still have them on the refrigerators. I ordered from Magnet Street and with the size and weight they took a regular stamp which was nice.

  • I did a whole poll thing about this on the Chit Chat board back when we sent ours, and the verdict was that obviously nobody is going to be annoyed if you send a card, but most people do actually stick the magnets on their fridge.

We went with very basic magnets from VistaPrint.  They were really cheap, like less than a dollar each, and came out beautifully.  And I see them on people's fridges which is really fun.

  • I went with magnets from vistaprint...also check groupon, i got a deal $50 off, and I ended up paying $50 for 100 magnets...also, if you are wondering,  there was no additional fees for me to mail them, I used a regular stamp.....

I will say everyone loved them, and they loved the idea they can put it on their refrigerator. !
  • We did magnets.....we used agiftfulheart.  The magnets had rubber glue dots that attached to separate cards that had some wording.  Fit perfectly into pretty shimmer envelopes.  It came out to about $2 for each one.  I remember them requiring a 65 cent stamp though.  I don't think I've ever seen anyone else use them on here which surprises me......the quality was beautiful and the service was wonderful.
  • I sent out save the date magnets and I am very happy with them. You're right about them being sent both ways though. I currently have two on my fridge from family members. One is a magnet and the other is a regular card. I had magnets on my fridge so I was able to hang the regular card that way. Most of my other family members have done the same. Either way the save the dates themselves both look great. I think it just comes down to your personal preference.

  • We decided on magnets and have gotten a ton of great feed back from our family and friends!
  • We also chose to do magnets.  We had a groupon for Vistaprint and they came out great.  Everyone still has them on the fridge.

  • We did magnets as well, we used agiftfulheart and they were attached to a card stock behind it as well.
