Julie Allen's- had a blast

I went to Julie Allen's in Newtown today with my FMIL. LOVED IT. I got Lauren and both her and I are Doctor Who fans so we fit right in together. She was great and brought out the dresses I wanted to try on that I knew the names and designers of. I would totally recommend people ask for Lauren if they go. I think I heard Jessica is the other good consultant? People didn't like Melanie. I almost had her and she had to go measure another bride so I got Lauren. Definitely lucky! I pretty much decided on my dress and am bringing my mom down there in the coming months.

Anyone else a Julie Allen's bride?

Re: Julie Allen's- had a blast

  • I almost bought a dress there, but I had an appointment at another shop afterwards and ended up finding a dress I liked better there. Julie Allen had a huge selection and I liked my consultant (can't remember her name). However, she left us halfway through the appointment to help someone else even though we were only 30 mins into our appointment. I was a bit turned off by that.

I'm a street size 12 and was (irrationally) worried that I wouldn't be able to fit into any of the samples before I went dress shopping. Julie Allen carries tons of larger sample sizes and I fit into everything I tried on. That was such a relief.

Congrats on possibly finding your dress!

I purchased my dress from Julie Allen and I had a very positive experience.  I went shopping on a weekday and had the full attention of the staff.  I agree that one of best parts of the shopping experience was the size of the samples.  I am also a street size 12 and it was nice to have dresses that fit/zipped.  At other dress stores, I had to squeeze into these tiny sample sizes.  It made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable.
