Wedding Recap and Withdrawal

Being a Bride isn't for Sissies!!!!

This being a bride thing sure is not for sissies!  It has been 5 days since our wedding, and we are breathing a sigh of releif now that it's OVER!

Of the things I have learned, and wish to pass along to future brides, are things that I have learned and wish I had thought of:

Don't bother with Spanx...if it's hot you'll be miserable

Wear comfortable shoes! You will be thankful the day after the wedding when you can still walk!

Pre-light the unity candle.  Yes it sounds like you're jumping the gun, but ours didnt light and it was a bit embarassing.

Have a plan for children...dont expect their parents to be constantly watching them....our cake almost got knocked over and I had to be the mean aunt and have the children removed from the cake area.

Do what you can to sleep the night before the wedding, take a melatonin supplement to help calm your brain...I wish I did - only got about 4 hours of sleep.

The game Angry Birds for an iPhone or Android smartphone is suprisingly calming when the butterflies kick up.

Give your photographer a list of pictures you'd really like to have...we missed out on a few and we regret it.

Designate someone to corrall the shutterbugs hovering over your photographer...ours was too polite to tell them to scram.

Don't plan to leave for your honeymoon the night of or the day right after the wedding...you need have time to relax, and sleep in!

I hope my posting will help other brides to be with their big day...But I can say...all the stress, worry, anxiety, and craziness is well worth it.  I not only married the man of my dreams, but I married my best friend. It was an awesome day! :-)
