Add me to the hate showers crowd.

I void them like the plague.   I would pick heading off on vacation before attending a shower any day.

OP- I am skipping a baby shower because I have plans out of town. It doesn't mean I don't like my friend any less. She completely understands and doesn't hold it against me. She knows how to be a friend.
