AW: IT'S HERE!

image

image

I'm so excited.  It was a huge pain to put on by myself (corset back) and I didn't even bother with the petticoat, soooo there will be a lot more floof.

The straps are going away, debating about adding cap sleeves.

  • You look beautiful!

  • Very pretty! I love the detail!
  • Thank you!!  @bethsmiles @lavenderfields13 @KeptInstitches @LabLove86 @jenjen047 @AuroraRose41 @500days

It came with the crinoline and a cathedral-length veil (the veil was a bonus that I didn't know I was getting, but I probably won't use it because I just can't 'see' myself in a veil that long).  I saved a bit of $ from what I was planning so I went ahead and splurged on a new overbust corset from one of my favorite companies.  I had my last underbust from them for years but I'm too small for it now (oh darn!).

  • So pretty! I love all the detail at the top! Are you leaning more towards strapless or cap sleeves?

  • Yay!!! I had a corset back and while it was such a pain in the ass getting into (and out of, actually), it was definitely the best type for my body. So excited for you!

  • So pretty!! I love the lace!!

    Thank you! @nycgal85 @southernpeach89

@lmcooper86 - as is I'm leaning towards cap sleeves.  I tried on some dresses with that style of sleeve in stores and felt that they really helped frame my face.  I'm going to wait and see what happens when my new corset gets here next week to see how it's actually going to look once I'm legitimately "supported."

@Swazzle @teddygirl9 @Blackbird230 - It was definitely a chore!  My MOH has already volunteered to help me into it next time, haha - I'm sure it'll be much quicker and more efficient with someone else lacing me up.

@AlPacina - Awwww thanks :)  I may or may not have squealed like a little girl when I was opening the very large box it came in... and proceeded to after unwrapping each "layer" of packaging (Peanuts, bubble wrap, and tissue paper - they were very thorough!)

@labro - Flowers in my hair - definitely yes.  My stepmom lent me her hair comb from their anniversary/vow renewal to use "if possible" but I may make something with the appliques from the halter straps I'm going to be removing - or something completely new.  It's hard to say at this point.  I'm undecided if I want a veil or not - maybe a birdcage veil at the most.

For jewelry, my mom gifted me some of my late grandmothers jewelry and I'd like to wear at least a few pieces:

Before I had been gifted grandma's jewels, I had picked these out as potential candidates.  I think they might look a bit too "shiny" and "new" for the style of my dress though at this point:

I got these chunky wedge-heels on clearance from DSW when shopping for prom shoes for FS., I'm super happy with them thusfar, although I will want to break them in well in advance:

Also, I'd originally been thinking tulips for bouquets to go with the "theme" of our venue, but my stepmother recently gifted me a lot of her grandmother's costume jewelry and it's got me seriously considering brooch bouquets instead.  Here's just a portion of what I've dug out for possibilities thusfar.  I have a lot more than that, and could probably supplement any gaps for a fraction of what my floral budget would have been otherwise.
