dress shop screw up..now I'm anxious

Hey Everyone,
I bought a sample dress from a local shop a few weeks ago. It's being cleaned so I don't have it back yet. I've been scouring the internet trying to find it, but with no luck, I called the dress shop to confirm the dress maker and style. Well APPARENTLY, it was mislabeled as a Pronovias gown. Now they tell me they aren't sure WHO made this dress, that they inherited it from a shop that went out of business.
And ya know, I'm kinda irritated. Looking back, did the fact that the dress was a Pronovias gown that I was getting a great deal on actually influence me? Probably. But the even bigger problem, is I can't find the origin of this dress, or pictures of it online. And that's bumming me out. I'd like to post a few pictures to see if any of you ladies can help.
I appreciate you reading!

  • I'm confused.  Why do you NEED to see pictures of the original gown?  I mean if you love the dress you bought then what does it matter who the designer is or if you see pictures of the original?

  • I'm having some regrets and second thoughts about it, honestly. So I had hoped that looking at pictures of how other brides/models accessorized it, might help convince me that I made a good choice.

But seeing how other people look in the dress won't really help.  You need to put the dress on and decide how you feel in it.  Everyone wears a dress differently.  It may look amazing on one person but completely dreadful on another.

I think you need to wait until your dress comes back and try it on again and see how you feel then.  Try on different veils and accessories while you have it on.  If the shop didn't make the mistake and it was a Pronovias gown would you still be having these doubts?  You shouldn't buy a dress just because it is by X designer, but because you feel beautiful in it.  How did you feel in the dress the day you tried it on?  What made it stick out from all the others?
