Fiance wants a red wedding dress

Hi! My fiance wants me to wear a red wedding dress on our wedding day. I'm happy to look into the idea, but a couple of things:

1. I really want a ballgown style dress- it is extremely hard to find a red ballgown dress, unless I want one that is coming from overseas, which is not an option for me.

2. I pretty much already found (what I feel) is the perfect dress. I was pretty much set to buy it until he told me that he wants me to wear red.

Suggestions?

Wear what YOU want.

Then have some red shoes, if YOU like them. I'm all for making my man happy, but I'm wearing what I want.

Or make red prevalent elsewhere...flowers, linens, etc.

I'm with the PPs here. Wear what YOU want. It's your dress, not his. That being said, if you did want to look into having a red ball gown, Alfred Angelo's Disney line's Snow White gown comes in red.

Yeah, no. He shouldn't be dictating what you wear. Go with the dress you already decided on.

If you want to wear red, look into prom and regular formal dresses rather than wedding dresses. Way more selection.

I'm with everyone else on the rest of it though.

Do you live in an area with a large South Asian population? If you do, you will be able to find traditional style wedding dresses in Red. When we were shopping with my girlfriend a couple of years back, she was looking in an area that had a large South Asian population and they had dresses like you are describing.

However, that being said, if you don't want red, don't wear red. I don't want to wear white. If my FI wanted me to wear white, I would ask him why and take his opinion into consideration but ultimately, it's what I want to wear and feel comfortable in.

I got my dress from there they are extremely affordable, high quality, and offer a lot of customization options. My dress was initially meant to be in red but I asked for white with green accents instead. This could be a compromise if you aren't sold on the entire red dress just have the embellishments in red. 

The shipping time is only 8 weeks which is also great and if you send her your own measurements you won't need alterations except for the bustle if you have a train. Also if you want a particular part of the dress changed she'll do it. For example I wanted a sweetheart neckline instead of straight and she did that for me.

(1) Don't regret your choice.  The photos last forever.  If you picture yourself as a wear white/ivory bride, don't do this.

(2) Red gowns are very easy to find.  Look at all the great options from Jovani and Sherri Hill.  I saw this on instagram in the last week.  Love it.  Look for red evening gowns, not wedding gowns.  And pageant gowns.
