THURSDAY!!!

Re: THURSDAY!!!

  • untouchablets It sounds like a better opportunity all around, and the increase in pay will make up for the unpaid time off.  Plus, it is better to work at a place you enjoy than stay at a place you're not happy.

  • Also, @alpacina ugh I can understand why that bothered you, and would make me scrub the whole house with a toothbrush. Fingers crossed she doesn't clean anything this time.

  • @alpacina my mom is the  same way. i wonder if she will ever start thinking of my house as being MY house....i feel like she still sees it as like my college apt where she would come in and buy groceries and stuff.
  • @AlPacina - I would be annoyed if my mom came over and started cleaning too! BF's parents do that and I told him that if they do it when we live together I will have no problem asking them to leave. It's just rude, even if you are family.

  • @southernpeac89 - Rationalize shopping because the baby demands new clothes? I also vote just switching to dresses...but I'm biased and basically spend the entire summer in skirts and dresses!

    @CocoBellaF - Congrats on the new job! When do you start?

    @Hummingbird15 - I'm glad you're okay! I had to drive all over the place after work yesterday and each leg of my driving was hell; I was almost run off the road by a truck at one point. I hope your fitting goes well!

    @TwoDimes - Yikes, I can't believe they're that swamped already! I hope you can find someone. Fingers crossed that Indy behaves...and that your FMIL behaves too.

    @eilis1228- Lots of vibes for your FI! May as well get your baker booked now if you can. We only booked ours 3-ish months out, but they told us they weren't meeting with 2015 weddings until after the holidays, so I wasn't worried. Eat all the cake!

    @minskat30 - We're both dying to go away. We had a week and a half off over the holidays, but we didn't go away and there was a ton of family stuff and wedding stuff and it didn't feel like a proper break. 10 days in Barbados cannot get here fast enough! I hope you have a great trip to Mexico!

  • @lavenderfields13 - I really love the cleanser and moisturizer I use right now (my skin has never been better) but I've been reading A LOT about oil cleansing and I want to give it a try.

    @minskat30 - You use oils to cleanse and moisturize your skin rather than using soap. Basically, I'm going to mix 2 parts castor oil and 1 part jojoba oil together and then massage that into my skin with my fingers. Then take a hot, damp washcloth and lay it across my skin for a minute or so and then use the washcloth to wipe away the oil. It removes the dirt and makeup and whatever else naturally and is supposed to be fantastic for your skin. Different oils for different skin types (I'm oily).

  • Holy hell that was a lot of "skin" in one post.

  • Ugh...it is freezing in my building today! We are supposed to get snow and they have the damn air conditioner on! I feel like I need to start bringing a space heater to work every day so I'm not sitting here freezing my ass off.

  • @lmcooper86 I think I might just do that. I don't even want to know what it would be like if I had to squeeze myself into some shorts.
  • @speakeasy14, @jenjen047, @bethsmiles - Thank you for the support, ladies. I am a slob, and I know it. But I always clean thoroughly before visitors. Sorry that I didn't scrub the inside of my toaster oven. God forbid I try and hang out to talk for a couple of minutes after we're done eating. She practically races me to the sink to do dishes!

    @bethsmiles - I feel you on the ridiculous temperature thing. Whatever temp it is outside, that's almost always how it feels inside my office. But hey, it's a better excuse to wear shorts to work in the summer. I wouldn't judge you for getting a heater. In fact, that sounds lovely!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY @GoldenPenguin!!!!!!!!!!!

    Congrats on the new job @CocoBella

    Today is busy at work for me, we are switching payroll systems and I have my second training so I might not be around too much. Tomorrow is half day for me so I'm pumped about that!! I'm also going to the movies tonight to see a cheer movie with my cousin and her daughter so that should be fun!

  • @GoldenPenguin Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!

    @bethsmiles congrats to your BF!

    @cocobellaf congrats on the offer!

    So much good news today!

    Today is a slow day. I have very little motivation to do any work, but I will do some. Last night FI and I went to dinner at a new Italian place down the road from where we live, and it was amazing. We even had this type of cheese that you can only get in the U.S. at that restaurant according to the waitress. A google search for the cheese only named the restaurant we went to. And we had boozy Tiramisu for dessert, which was delicious. The menu even said they wouldn't serve it to anyone under 21! Oh, and I got a free homemade strawberry sorbet with a candle in it :)

    We have leftovers from that place and I cannot wait for dinner tonight again, diet be damned. Other than that, we have to go on a cleaning spree, since FI's best friend is flying down from San Francisco tomorrow and FBIL is driving here tomorrow too, and they are staying with us. Other than that it's going to be a slow day.

    AuroraRose41 Tiramisu is my favorite dessert, but that one sounds omg soooo good -- also, so glad you were able to enjoy your birthday dinner!

  • @minskat30, I'll AW the covers right now:

    It's book format, so intended to be folded in half. The "guts" of the bulletin will be inserted and held together with an elastic band.
  • And now I found out that FBIL is actually coming tonight instead. So now FI and I need to race home and power clean. Nothing is too terrible, and FBIL probably won't mind, but it's my own crazy neat freak-ishness about having dirty dishes in the sink etc. when people are coming.
