Wedding Woes

It's really only Monday?

How was the weekend?  Ours was ok but busy.  I didn't get the alone time I'm craving and this week is going to be the pits.  We have something every single day and Dh is working until 10 pm Tuesday and Wednesday night.

I overheard FIL ask if DH and BIL had said something about going shooting Saturday.  I desperately want to be ok with this because I DO think they need the time.  Except I need the time too.  I haven't had time off in WEEKS and I've been doing extra days and nights solo for months.  Add that they will probably want to go somewhere by BIL which adds an extra 2.5 hrs AND we have to be at BIL's the next day it just doesn't seem like the best time.  BUT I do want them to have this because they rarely do things just the 3 of them and I think they need it right now.

  • Oh boo 6.  I totally understand that feeling of wanting H to do something and not wanting him to at the same time.

The kiddo went back to school! YAY!!!  :)

We are so busy this week.  We're leaving Thursday for our long weekend.  We have all our packing left to do.  Since MIL is coming in our car, we have to be strategic about our packing.

Weekend was good.  I worked Saturday.  The rest of the weekend was running around, shopping, and cooking.  Easter with both families was nice.  I'm exhausted after being so freaking busy.

Also I have decided I want to can. I spent Saturday doing a bunch of research and ordered a few things off of Amazon. Then I started reading about overnight oatmeal so I bought chia seeds for the first time.
  • 6 - Can you set up Max at some type of Mother's Day Out program 1 or 2 days a week while the other 2 are at school?  I started working from home when DD was little and the other 2 were in school and for the first year I thought I would go crazy from the 24/7, then a tues/thurs all day program was my life saver!

I don't really want to do an MDO program.  It's not the working part because I do most of that when they are in bed.  The problem now is that DH has been working crazy hours and weekends for 6 weeks now.  I was supposed to have a free day Saturday but it just didn't work that way.  I'm getting a hair cut Friday so I might try to meet friends for a drink after.

Spring Break and bad weather are not helping.

  • Canning is super fun, 6.  Grab the Balls canning recipe book, it's considered a classic and has so much stuff in it.  I love doing it; I just need more people to give stuffs to.  For your family though, it'll be so nice in the winter.  I only do the hotbath, but you should look into pressure canning too.  Also, zucchini relish.  Awesome stuff.  When we make it, it goes pretty much on top of any meat, eggs, veggies, etc.  So good.

Saturday DH worked nearly all day.  I did a bunch of design stuffs for my group and got some future projects lined up and knocked out of the way.  Sunday we went and volunteered in one of the city gardens and had dinner with my parents.

Camping/hiking/photography weekend upcoming.  I'm ready for it.  I considering asking off for Monday b/c I need a break from work.

Now I'm even more excited V.  I was reading a ton and bought the Ball's discovery kit that has a little cookbook, but I might need to get the full one.  The website has stuff, but I love a real cookbook you can make notes and splash tomatoes on.

My eyes went directly to  "grab the Balls" and I was slightly disappointed to actually read that post.

I think my weekend's most exciting part has to go on facebook, not here.

But overall, it was really nice to have time off, get some sleep, and hang w/ family.
Also, 6, Chia pudding is one of my go-to lunch staples.  I make 4 little containers on Sunday, and grab a tub and a baggie of crasins for part of my lunch every day.
    (However, the Mr. hates them.)
I also toss them into my home-made peanutbutter for a bit of bulk and crunch without being big-cruncy (which I hate)
  • The kids and DH are off today.  DH and I are actually going to go to a movie in a couple hours.

The weekend was good.  Son had a practice game on Saturday and it was nice to be back at the park.  The season officially starts this Saturday.

Yesterday we finally got to do xmas with my grandparents at my parents' house.  There were so many illnesses around the holidays that we all just stayed away from each other.  The kids were ecstatic to get some new toys on top of 87lbs of easter candy.

We also did a lot of wedding stuff.  We got a lot figured out for the shower and formed an assembly line to put together wedding invites.
  • Ha! @ GBCK.

Oh 6, my canning cookbook is a disaster!  But it's from fun times.  I will say that making ketchup was the biggest PITA and I've sworn never to do it again.  But we're almost out and after having homemade ketchup, everything else doesn't taste as bright and tart.  Too much sugar flavor.
  • It was a good weekend. I Mom came into town and stayed two night with my sister and two nights with me. Chruch was great yesterday, and I had a food coma afterwards.

It's like my mom has spidey sense. She called and suggested o bring the kids down Tuesday after school and come down Wednesday to spend the night and leave Thursday morning. Y'all I am going to have basically a night to myself and a whole day. I wasn't sure what to do but a movie might be just the thing. I don't even ow what's out there.
  • YAY Mama 6!! :D Enjoy your alone time.

IDK what's out there either, but I love a movie alone.  It's wonderful.
  • Morning! This weekend was okay. Saturday I spent the day shopping with my mom for a MOB dress which was...not exactly painful but not exactly fun. I brought DD with me, and she started to go stir crazy after a while so trying to wrangle her while we were in Neiman Marcus was a real treat (at one point she wanted to play hide and seek with a drooly face and gross hands in a rack of $2000+ dresses).

Sunday I took DS to swim lessons, then we went to FIL's house for dinner. It was meh although my potatoes au gratin were well received. Came home, got the kids baths, then had them in bed by 7 pm because they were exhausted.

This morning I was up early to workout and now I'm just going to sit around pretending like I have work to do.
  • I'm feeling a little blah today.

I was accosted by a coworker for help within 3 minutes of sitting down in my office, so I knew it would be a busy day. I had Thursday and Friday off last week, so coming back today was particularly difficult.

It's been 4 weeks in the boot and my ankle is still bothering me a good bit. I set up an appointment with an orthopedist later this week so i could get a 2nd opinion. I'm hoping he tells me it will just need some more time and therapy rather than anything more invasive.

Weekend was good, and felt pretty busy. Thursday I ran a bunch of errands, went to the pre-K picnic, and spent a few hours (ok, 5) hanging out with some of my mom friends for dinner and drinks. Friday had a 90 minute massage and went to see Home with DK and Wolverine, and played a game online with my dad.  Saturday we hung out around the house, and DK and I had our inaugural hot tub night (hot tub, fire pit, s'mores) since the pool renovation is (mostly) finished. Easter - we hung out at home, DK went to church, and I made ham.

This weekend went by way too fast.

My biggest news is that I finally cornered H in the spare time he had and we talked about KIDS.  So...I made an appointment today while out to get the plug pulled this Thursday.  WHAT?!  Is this my life?  This is also in the face of AF maybe visiting this week so I might have to postpone one week, but it's still a lot sooner than I suppose I thought...holy shitballs.

Also, SIL hosted Easter, and sent a text out to all family at 10:00 (party to start at 11) that Niece had "a touch of Bronchitis".  What?  And during the party MIL picked up said niece to blow out her birthday candles.  SMRT.

    I skipped cake.
