I love the 90's

90's movies are seriously my favorite.  My favorite of all time is Empire Records.  Tonight I'm going to an interactive screening of it at a Record Shop in Brooklyn and GWAR will be there and we are dressing in our finest 90's gear and I'm basically so excited that work is torture today haha!

What are your favorite 90's movies???

Re: I love the 90's

  • Clueless is definitely #2 on that list.  I can recite every word.

  • My forever pick me up movie will always be Drop Dead Gorgeous. I'm the annoying person you can't watch it with because I know every damn word.

  • Empire Records is by far one of my all-time favorite movies. I can pretty much quote the whole movie start to finish.
  • My favourite 90s movie is Strictly Ballroom, I went to the Rep Theatre so many times to see that movie when I was in High School (God I'm old). That, and Like Water for Chocolate.

ETA - Not even going to lie, that Homeward Bound gif made me a little teary.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO ME IN THE MORNING?! That movie is the best. All the feels.

I'm glad my work is blocking gifs today because I can't take a homeward bound gif right now. Love that movie, but I bawl like a baby.  Every time.

  • I think this one was 2000, but Sweet November.

    Another tearjerker, but so good.

    Titanic?

The only reason this movie excited me was because I got to see titties and no one covered my eyes. I felt like I was getting away with something.

Other than that, I want to hurt her for throwing that necklace in the ocean. WHY?

Pretty much every single one of these, but Clueless and Drop Dead Gorgeous definitely score highest. And in the same vein, Jawbreaker!

    OMG Jawbreaker!

    Titanic?

When we were kids my nephew was really into boats, so I had to see the second part of that fucking video tape several times a day for 2 summers in a row.

Not the fun romantic first part. The second part where everyone dies.

  • At one point in the 90's I was really into horror movies...

    So with that said...

    Scream

I Know What You Did Last Summer

    Urban Legend

And because my memory was now jogged thinking about I know what you did last summer,

    Can't Hardly Wait

How awful!  Titanic came out when I was 10 or so.  There was nothing to do in our small town at the time except to go to the movies, and our movie theater was showing titanic for seriously like 3 months.

I think I saw it in theaters something crazy like 7 times.  Looking back, I'm like why did my mom and dad keep shelling out money for me to see the same movie over and over with my friends?!
