Dress shopping!

Has anyone started dress shopping yet? I know we still have a ways until our 2016 wedding dates, but I'm so excited. I'm going to my first appointments on April 22nd. I was going to wait until end of May but my matron of honor is due on May 15th so we wanted to start before her baby comes. I know it's early but at least I won't feel rushed/pressured to pick something out and when I do find the dress I know it will get here in plenty of time!!

I went dress shopping a long time ago. I've been engaged for over two years.   It was actually one of the first things I did, because I knew what I wanted.  And it was the last time  i could get my immediate family together without it involving airfare.  Since both me and my sister were getting ready to move across the country from my parents.    

I found my dress at the second store we went to.  It was the last dress I tried on, and I was the only person to have ever tried the sample on.  They had just put it down as discontinued that day.  Really felt like it was meant to be mine.  I bought it of the rack, so it needs some major alterations to fit.  It's been sitting at Nana's house since I got it. 

Dress shopping can be exciting but it can also be stressful.  Mostly exciting though.  You're going to have to post pictures once you pick out your dress!

I am really excited to start dress shopping.  I live in Boston but my family is in CT and I really want my Mom to be with me when shopping so we have two appointments booked Mother's Day weekend while I'm visiting her.  It will be about a year exactly from the wedding.  If we don't find 'the one' on that trip I'll plan to come back in June.  The summer gets so busy I think it makes sense to check this off sooner rather than later.

I am so excited because yesterday I made an appointment to go dress shopping in May! I'm going on May 21 which is exactly one year before my wedding.  I hope it will be a lucky shopping day too.

Also this weekend, I managed to coordinate everyone's schedules to go shopping for bridesmaid dresses together in August. I really wanted to have all my girls together one time for shopping so I can't wait for that day too!

I've been engaged a year so I've looked at dresses and have an idea of what I want, but I'll get going again once we secure the date.

@blackbird230 Where have you looked at dresses in CT?  I am going to Eva's in Stratford and Julie Allen in Newtown this coming weekend.

@laurad75, ask for Lauren at Julie Allen's. I worked with her and will probably be going back there for my dress. I haven't gone to Eva's. I have gone to The Wedding Dress in Portland, Lastina Girls in Middletown and some in Western Massachusetts with my mom.
