Happy Friday Night

So we got home last night from vacation.  Now DH and his #2 are drinking while figuring out new dishes to put on the menu.   I'm getting a little hungry now.

Anyway, highlights of my trip.   Saw family.  It was great to see family, great to get home too .   Went to Lancaster county and bought a quilt.  I've oddly always wanted an Amish quilt (grew up not too far from there).   I also bought an quilted overnight bag.  It's so beautiful and really made well.       

Then we went to MIL's who told me DH's grandma made quilts and she had them in the attic.  I dug them out.  So beautiful.   MIL let us take one home.  SCORE.    Now I have 2 quilts.  

DH also found some old ski and other random stuff.    In the end I spent $268 in shipping all the stuff home.  Sigh.

Oh and my biggest expense..... a new Mac Air.

I'm eating homemade Chinese food and watching the Yankees/Red Sox game. We were considering going to the auto show in NYC today but DH ended up having too much stuff to do this morning. I spent most of the day cross-stitching and doing some work from home.

We went to the local baseball game for a bit and are having drinks on our porch now.

I love homemade quilts. I have one from when I was a baby, that I still have one on my bed.

I am drinking wine and marathoning Veronica Mars. I finally made it to season three.

Quilts are nice. I like making baby ones. I hope that one day they turn into keep sakes.
As for tonight I just spent the last hour making bruschetta with a pesto spread and balsamic glaze. Worth every minute.

Ok, so I am just forgetting the book, but was the message announced to the entire city like that, or was it just Tris and Four who went over the wall to the little research facility.  I feel like it was way too small for everyone to go, but now I can't remember as it's been so long since I've read the books.

I believe it was just a few of the newly factionless left after the controlled Dauntless eliminated Abnegation, and I feel like a few of the Dauntless went factionless and went as well. I can't be 100% sure because it's been a while myself and I don't have the books any more to fact check for you, but I feel like that's right.

I was watching Friends on Netflix until FI wanted to go talk. No he's asleep and the TV seems too far away Also its almost 2 I should be asleep

Guys, I am so lame.
My bruschetta recipe was a mix of 4 different recipes. Before I could go to bed I typed it all up, added the photo I took, made it into a PDF and then converted it into a JPG. All so I could load it to my Pinterest. Again, I am lame.

We went to a birthday party, but had to leave early to pick our son up from work.

I love sleeping under a quilt. Congrats on the two quilts, Lynda. Well worth the shipping fee.

My cousin makes quilts and she made one for my nephew's birth so I'm really hoping she makes one for my future child haha.

We went out for seafood last night. I woke up at 2am feeling like death. I was convinced I had food poisoning but this morning I feel totally normal. So I have no idea what that was about!

Thanks. It was fucking delicious. H doesn't eat tomatoes, he tried a slice and was complaining later that he wanted more.

I wanted to go to a beer festival with friends but I decided to be a good student and get homework done. Sigh...I really want to go see Woman in Gold. It looks pretty good.

We had some friends over for dinner for the first time since Will was born. I made lemon chicken (Barefoot Contessa's recipe), which was a little on the dry side, but otherwise very tasty. The hubs made date and almond salad and garlic bread. I like garlic bread well enough, but this stuff was amazing! We made it with our favorite bread from the local coop. Friends brought an apple pie and gelato. We drank our favorite local IPA. Good meal!

This morning H made french toast with more of that bread. Yum. And today the cat finally broke down and curled up in my lap next to the baby (she's afraid of him).

I had it made for myself. It's going to be my gardening tee. I also designed a tank top online that I'm going to order this weekend. I'm a weirdo.
