Wedding location bug

Hey guys,

Encountering a frustrating bug around the Wedding Location field. On both my wedding website and in my Knot profile I had set my Wedding Location to be 'Adelaide, South Australia'. Problem is this gets truncated to 'Adelaide, So', and is displayed as such on my wedding website front page.

I can go into my 'Basic Info' panel in the admin pages of my website and correct the location again, but it seems to get truncated again the following day on its own.

Any thoughts?

Re: Wedding location bug

  • No help from me except to let you know you're not alone. Mine doesn't cut the city off, but removes the space in "San Antonio" to make "SanAntonio." Small detail, but annoying!
  • Hi all,

I haven't seen this issue yet but I'm going to pass it along to tech so they can investigate further. Sorry about these issues, and let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks!

  • Thanks KnotRiley. There's a few bugs here and there but really liking the new site. The XOGroupTech guys should write that blog post about their experience replatforming the site :)
  • Any luck with this issue yet? It is still happening, and even if I change it to a completely different location it reverts back to 'Adelaide, So'. Visitors to our site have been commenting on this.

    Hi there,

Thanks for following up on this. Our tech team is still working to fix this. I'm so sorry for any inconvenience, and I'll be sure to keep you updated!

    Thank you!

  • This might help the tech team:

I set it to 'Glenelg, SA' (below the truncation length) a couple of weeks ago and it didn't change for two weeks. During those two weeks I also didn't log in to https://www.theknot.com/gs/dashboard.

Just now I logged back into the dashboard, and it immediately reverted back to 'Adelaide, So'. I think the browser might be posting back some cached data and setting the location whenever I visit https://www.theknot.com/gs/dashboard ?
