We have owned several sets of outdoor furniture.

I would urge you to think twice before buying anything with cushions.  They will quickly mildew in a wet climate, and sun damage in a dry one.  Replacing cushions can cost as much as a whole new chair.
My current set has hard woven sling seats, and I love them.  When I need to clean them, I just vet out the garden hose.  Water doesn't puddle on them, and they dry quickly.
I don't like either of your options.  I have trouble getting out of chairs, and both those options would be my worst nightmare.

Well it's a darn good thing you don't live there, and I'm pretty sure OP hasn't invited you over to snuggle.

  • I have a  single, not double, zero gravity (Bliss) chair.  It came with a beverage holder and canopy. It's comfortable and easy to clean. It reclines enough to snooze a bit, but you can't beat a hammock for a long, lazy nap.

  • We have two zero gravity chairs that FI's mom gave us to use with our camper.  We use them at home too, they're super comfy, although a bit cumbersome to get in and out of if you're short like me.  I think they're a great option til you can afford the nicer stuff (which is our problem too).

I like hammocks too but I feel like they're two totally different options.  The chairs are great for lounging, reading, drinking, eating, etc.  The hammock is good for a nap and possibly reading.  So I guess it depend what you want to be doing in that area!

  • If you want a nice set without dropping a million dollars, I would recommend hitting up garage and estate sales in your local rich parts of town.
