Ugh no - just dropping in to say that I married my husband (who's active duty Army) yesterday - we waited because I wasn't having any of the secret courthouse, big party later stuff. My best friend married her Marine husband in her parents' living room 18 years ago because they had to throw something together quickly before he had to PCS and they wanted close family and friends near. The military doesn't have a damn thing to do with it - you can choose to make it work if you really want to.

Due to military stuff, my friend planned the big white wedding in literally two weeks. Her FI left days later and they were apart for a month before she moved from one coast to the other to where he was.  Then, five months later, he was deployed for about eight months until finally, over a year later, they had their honeymoon.

No second "wedding."  It can be done.
