Ordained Minister - Family/Friend

Hello! We have been in touch with Dare County and it is legal in NC to have a friend or family member become ordained to officiate the ceremony. Has anyone done this before? We're having a private ceremony (2 witnesses & a friend to officiate) and want to make sure we go through the process correctly. Not to mention it saves about $3-500! I know we'd have to turn in the paperwork after it's done but I'm curious to see if anyone else has gone this route.

    Hello and welcome! Yes, lots of brides have done this and everything went smoothly for them. I don't really know the details myself, but Im sure Dare County can answer any questions you have. Hey, as long as you've done everything required by them, you should be go to go :)
