Honest Opinions Needed ASAP

I bought this dress used for (what I think) is a good price from a bride online. (It was not from a Chinese online thing though). I have the option to return it for a refund, but obviously I can't hang on to it for long before making a decision to return it to the seller. I need honest opinions. I'm very self-conscious about my arms so I'm already not loving the sleeveless thing. But something about the top makes my boobs look lop-sided. What do you really think about the dress?

I kind of love it. I tried on a similar one, and while it wasn't really me, I couldn't stop grinning while I had it on; the ruffles are just so much fun!

I'm pretty sure you just need a better bra under it to solve the boob thing. If that's the only thing you don't like, I'd keep it.

No one else is going to look twice at your arms. I wouldn't have if you hadn't mentioned them. You can always wear a shawl or add straps or something if you're really uncomfortable, but I promise the strapless looks just fine on you as it is.

I'm not a fan of that dress.  It has a lot going on with the design.  I'm more of a classic style person.  JMHO.

I think the dress is a good silhouette for you and looks nice on your body. And I think your boobs only look lopsided because of the lighting in that pic.

However, the dress itself is not my taste. I don't like the skirt at all - it looks wrinkled and messy. It may look better if steamed but hard to tell from that picture.

But I'm not the one wearing it. What's important is that you like the look and you feel confident. If you don't, return it and keep looking.

I am so grateful for the feedback. I thought I wanted a dress with some sort of sleeves but then after looking at plus size brides with sleeves it almost seemed to draw more attention to the arms. So then I thought "screw the sleeves and just buy a dress I really like". (It was just luck that I could buy a used dress that I really do like). But now that I have it and tried it on, I'm rethinking the sleeves.

I'm not a fan.  I do not like the skirt and I feel like the waist hits you all wrong. I feel like you would look good in something that shows off and hugs all of your curves, kind of like the first dress that CMGr posted.

After thinking about it more, I decided to send the dress back and keep looking. I just packed it up and took it to the post office. Thanks again for all the feedback.

go to a bridal shop and try on dresses to see what you like  all of the designers listed have plus size lines and they inexpensive 500-2000 with most gowns in under 1200

Thank to your post, I just ordered myself a black crochet bolero to wear with my sleeveless little black dress.  I don't like my upper arms, either.

My opinion of the dress you tried on is for that skirt, it didn't hang right.  I liked the ruffle skirts, so maybe I'm an oddball there, but that one was missing some of the poof and I think it made the waist look weird.

Your arms look fine, try a few dresses on with sleeve options.  If you add a jacket, it usually is obvious you're trying to hide your arms and it draws more attention to them.  I HATE my arms too, I just was up front with my photographer and there are some pics that I dislike because of my arms.

I think if you have to ask for opinions on your dress, it's really not your dress.  When I found my dress, I really didn't care what others thought of it because I loved it.

OP - I'm not a fan of that dress either...I don't care for the ruffles.  I wouldn't give up on sleeveless dresses though.....that wasn't the problem with that dress.  The ruffled bottom does nothing for you.  Have you tried David's Bridal or other shops near you where you can try on multiple dresses?  Ordering online is probably going to be difficult to find a winner.

My wedding isn't for nearly a year so I actually haven't started looking yet. It was for sale on local wedding board I'm a member of and I liked it so much (from the picture) and it was my size that I jumped at the chance. But I'm happy with my decision to send it back. The seller was nice enough to refund my money so I'm not out anything but some shipping charges. This is actually my second wedding and I bought my first dress from DB years ago. I had a pleasant experience with them back then so I'm sure I'll try there this time around too. Thanks for the feedback!

People, please stop worrying about flabby arms. They are your arms, and they are fabulous.   If you fall in love with a strapless/sleeveless dress, wear it.  Don't worry about flabby arms.   NO one will be looking there if you have a fabulous dress that is properly fitted.

I think the ruffles look cheap and wrinkled.  Here is a good option for a ruffle skirt that i don't think would cut you off

The dress is gorgeous, but in the end, it comes down to how you feel in it! If you love it, then by all means, keep it. If you're uncomfortable in it, then ditch it and don't give it a second thought. I think the ruching on the bodice is what's making your breasts appear "lop-sided". However, I will say it's hardly noticeable and will probably disappear once you have the dress tailored to fit you better. My arms bother me too in strapless dresses, but I've found that dresses with illusion necklines and thick shoulder straps help with this. Even though these types of dresses still show my arms, I somehow feel much less...exposed in them.

OP: Even if you're not getting that dress, you can always do another sleeveless. Don't forget that there are SO many options for your arms - shrugs, cape-lettes, wraps - you can even add sleeves if you find the perfect silhouette otherwise. Best of luck on your quest.
