Friday! Weekend plans?

Well, folks, we did it. We made it to Friday. I personally will be trying not to sleepwalk through the day. FI convinced me to see Avengers with him yesterday, except he worked late so we had to go to the 9:30 pm showing. I didn't get to bed until about 3 hours after I normally do. So I'll be drinking lots of Red Bull today. The movie was good, and he was very grateful I went to see it with him on opening night, but if it had been up to me, I'd have waited until tonight.

After work, I've got a hair appointment. I'm starting to look like Farah Fawcett gone wrong (and brunette) so I'm looking forward to a refresh. After that I'm going to maybe look into some new summer clothes and maybe treat myself to Chinese, since FI is working late again tonight.

This weekend I need to get my butt in gear and do some serious cleaning. Saturday night FI has a ride along for his Citizen's Police Academy and I'm going to a Whine and Cheese night with some coworkers.

We might finish Breaking Bad this weekend! Only five episodes left.

Tell me your weekend plans!

  • oooo cheese night- good times!

I honestly have not one thing planned DH works on Saturdays so I normally have lunch plans with a friend but I somehow have none this week. Yay for lying on the couch!

  • Tomorrow the summer farmers market opens in my town (literally right outside my front door!) so we're going to that for sure.

We need to go to the bank to open a joint account, and there's an electronics recycling drive Saturday too that we need to drop stuff off at.

Besides that, grocery shop, laundry, and cleaning. And I want to hit the gym at least once this weekend. And some booty, of course.
  • Sitting on a plane from Ireland at the moment, Fi got sushi rez for tonight.

Tomorrow looking at apts in LIC & Sunday a brunch where one of my bridesmaids will announce to her college friends that she is pregnant. (Hooray!)

I haven't had a good night of sleep in over a week so I hope to have a date with the inside of my eyelids at some point...

Oh! And watching the Mayweather v. Pacquaio fight at a sportsbar, hopefully the 40/40 Club, my fav for fights.

*Maybe* if I'm alive, spinning w/@lacqueredlover or just napping with Elle & Crab. Haha

    Happy weekend y'all!!
  • Tonight - Spin, then dinner with MIL

Saturday - H's nephew's bar mitzvah. We have to be at the temple at 9am.

Saturday night: Hanging out on a friend's new boat.

    Sunday: Bar mitzvah party

taking a 1/2 day today and meeting with the florist and then we have our final meeting at the venue where we pay the remaining $$ (that's a check I'm not looking forward to writing!) and then pick out the colors we want for stuff, etc. Too bad I still don't know what colors we are doing!  BMs ended up with cobalt blue dresses, but not sure I want everything to be blue.  They also supposedly have a big closet with decorations that can be put out so I think we look through that stuff too.

Sat - Might run a low key 1/2 marathon in the morning, haven't decided yet. Then going to a friends house for the Derby and then they're getting that boxing match but I don't like boxing and it isn't on until late so we will be peacing out long before then

Sun - going bowling with Saturday's group, kind of weird to spend both nights together but I guess someone won a party at some place that is like swanky bowling/bar/etc.

  • We're spending the weekend with FI's family. We're headed down there after work today. They are hosting a little engagement thing for us and FI's brother and his FI tomorrow. And Sunday they are doing a graduation lunch for FI's other brother.

  • @lolo883 I'm going to be that person who says that I am dying to know! Please report back :) PS....I think it's a girl!

DH and I are both working this weekend so it's going to be a relaxing weekend with movies and popcorn and margs.

  • Tonight my BFF and her fiance are coming over to meet my pup and have some wine and dinner at my apartment.

Tomorrow morning I have a spin class and then a beauty blogger preview for The Makeup Show which I'm super excited about!

Sunday I have another spin class in the morning, then having another friend to come meet the pup and do brunch, and dinner with old friends.

  • My mom and sister went to visit my brother across the state this weekend. I am really glad they're going, because he's lonely as all get out, but I'm also supercrazyjealous because I miss him and couldn't justify another day off when I just took one last week. Andplusalso he's cutting their hair, and I wanna haircut toooooooo. Wah. BUT it means I have the laundry room all to myself! Woo! I can wash clothes all weekend!

I'm debating taking FI to see the Avengers at some point this weekend. I have to figure out if I want to see it badly enough to go opening weekend. I wish I thought Race Weekend would make it easier, but I doubt it since I'm not sure there's a whole lot of overlap between Nascar peeps and opening-weekend Avengers peeps.

And then I'm going to weed my little veggie garden and get all my new happy little plants into their new happy little planters and pots and maybe try to make a little herb garden for fresh basil and thyme and maybe some others. And MAAAAAAYBE there will be some grass to cut. Not sure - it got cut last week and it's been kinda dry, so maybe not.

  • Today I'm working from home because my temporary computer at worked got locked, and nobody can seem to figure out the password, and the new one isn't here yet.

It was rather perfect timing though, as FI's mom and sister show up this evening, so now I have all day to get the house clean!

They're coming because we're having a partay tomorrow afternoon/evening.  I guess it's sort of a housewarming sort of thing, but we just called it "We wanted to have a party" Party as I didn't want people to think they needed to bring a gift.

The kegerator is ready to go, and I have to go do some grocery shopping and get cookin' tonight and tomorrow morning.  Pulled pork, beer braised brats, loads of apps, dips, chips, and my friend is bringing a cake and my cousin is bringing some other dessert.  I can't wait!

  • Tonight FI and I have a double date with our friends so we are going to a hibachi place for dinner and then to see the Avengers. FI is notoriously picky about food so I can't believe I got him to agree to the hibachi dinner, I hope it means he will start branching out. I also hope he ends up eating..

Tomorrow we have our niece's first communion and lunch after and then tomorrow night I have a girl's night planned with some friends to celebrate our friend who came home for the weekend (she moved to FL in September).

Sunday I have a bridal shower for a friend and I am a little nervous because I will only know like 3 people and 2 are in the bridal party so I am hoping not to be awkward!

Elle has a super busy weekend.  Last night she was terrified of my hair dryer and went and hid in her crate, which was hilarious since she never uses it and sleeps in my bed.

Tonight I have tickets to Happy Days: The Musical. I'm not sure about the content, but my friend is playing Mrs. Cunningham so we're going in support. Since it's one of my theatre friends, that means I get to hang out with the other 6, who are a total hoot. Much laughing and fun in my future tonight.

Tomorrow H and I are going house hunting. We found this one last night that we absolutely love, so all day today I'll be praying nobody else snaps it up while we're at work. I'm not really sure I'm ready to buy a house, but this house looks perfect in the pictures and has a great location. If it's as nice in person as it is in pictures I don't know that we can resist putting an offer on it. It's just our first time looking at houses, ah! But other than the immense pressure of buying something that big I really want a house, so I would be very happy to be getting a bigger space.
And then Saturday evening we have plans with friends to play Zombicide (woo wedding gifts).

Sunday we don't have any plans. Maybe more house hunting. Maybe we'll start thank you notes from the wedding. I should probably clean something.

  • Tomorrow morning I fly to FL for my cousin's wedding on Sunday. And my stepdad, brother, sister and I are going to spread some of my mom's ashes.

Tonight I'm running around like a crazy person to get a pedicure, wax, strapless bra, clean the house and pack. And watch the Hawks game hopefully.

  • I am so glad it is Friday. This has been one of the craziest, busiest work weeks I have ever had. I have been working late every day (I was here until 9pm last night) and it looks like it will be another late day today. Tonight I am going to go home and crash. I'll probably get some Thai takeout on the way.

Tomorrow I am going out to get my nails done with some girlfriends and then need to do some shopping for Mother's Day presents for my mom and MIL.

Sunday I am volunteering in the morning and then plan on going downtown for our Cinco De Mayo festival with H.

  • I'm so happy its Friday like everyone else! This week and next week will be crazy. It's finals next week so I'm going to be running around like a crazy person! Friday, I will be working on math hw and I'm not sure what else. This whole weekend will be spent studying for finals. I'm also trying to not think about our pet mouse ruby. She died several days ago. She was an old mouse, we think she was norah's mom. So we buried her by the river. I've been sad all week so I've been procrastinating on some school work. At least we made the last several months of her life happy.

I'm still waiting to hear back on when I can start my internship, grr. I ordered a shirt to treat myself so I'm looking forward to that. I also really want to go to kansas for grad school. The city looks awesome and so does the program. I've already researched apartments and I'm planning on getting a cat at some point! I fell in love with one already but I doubt he will be there by the time I start grad school. I can't believe I'm officially a senior! This summer is going to rock!

  • Tonight FI and I are going to see the Avengers. I'm not really looking forward to it. I love all those movies, but I absolutely hate waiting in line at a movie theatre. I would much rather go next week when its less insane, but FI is a diehard and has to go tonight. lol.

Tomorrow I really want to get started on our ceremony. We're still 4 months out, but we have a busy summer ahead of us and I want as much done now. And I think both of us will feel like we are in a better place with planning if we actually have the ceremony started. seeing as its the most important part and all.

There was like, no one in the theater last night. I'd attribute that partially to the fact that literally half the screens in the theater were designated for Avengers showings, so there's not exactly a shortage of available showtimes. Of course, we also saw it in a fairly low-traffic area, but with any luck the crowd will be spread out enough that you won't have to wait too long.

Jealous! We only have one theatre in town and it only has 4 screens. So sadly there is no escape. But at least I can get myself a kids pack of buttery popcorn and mini eggs and I'll be happy.

  • Hooray hooray the first of May!

Gorgeous morning, remembered to say "rabbit rabbit rabbit" when I woke up. For good luck, because why, I don't know. I just go with it.
Roses are blooming in May. This is something new.
So happy May Day, Happy Communist Day, Happy Robin Hood Day (if anyone's in Nottingham) and Happy Beltane. (If anyone's Wiccan.)

My mama (the Grand High Poohbah of All Moms) emailed and told me to look in my bank account for a birthday surprise, and hell yes, surprise deposit!!! and I am sooooo going shopping. And out to dinner. And a nice bottle of wine. I'm just stoked. All hail to the Grand High Poobah of All Moms. I love my mama.
Not to sound shallow, but surprise frittering away money just vastly cheered me the fuck up.
    All good things.

Also, have you guys done the Microsoft "How old do you look" thing?
It's hilarious. You can even put in a group picture, and it guesses the age of everyone. It has a few wildly inaccurate moments. It identified my sisters as 12 and 82 in one picture. Off by a good 30 years for both.
I'm going to pretend it's working, because it says I'm 38. (Okay, Moose tests consistently as 30. I'm sure it's only because of the scruffy beard.)

  • SoontobeMrsKlein, I see you live in a small town but if you ever get the chance you should find out if any theaters close-ish to you have reserved seating. It's becoming more popular, we ordered our tickets for tonight's 8pm show and since they're reserved we literally could walk right in at 8, no lines and have our seats waiting for us! I'm pretty happy about that. When we saw the last Spiderman movie the line wrapped all the way through the mall and I hated waiting.

Well, that's depressing. I put in a few of my wedding pictures: 44, 43, 37. I AM 25. It got H right as early 30s every time, though!
  • Hahaha I just bought a groupon for Elle to stay at a doggy hotel when I go to Lollapalooza and I have to bring here there tomorrow for a "temperament test."  This place is so fancy, I swear it's nicer than hotels I stay in.

I tried it with what I thought was a pretty good picture of me. I got 37. I'm 27.

Last Saturday FI got a haircut so he tried it with a selfie from before and a selfie from after, taken about an hour apart in the same location. Before selfie is younger than after selfie. And since he "blames" me for him getting a haircut (though I'd like to state for the record it was his decision), he now blames me for making him look older. I should have pointed out that in the before selfie, he's smiling, and he always looks way more youthful when he smiles. Dang it.
