Wedding Coordinator needed for ceremony?

Hi everyone! So me and my fiance won't be getting married until another 2 1/2 years but we've already decided on having a destination wedding in Maui, HI. We've been brainstorming on ideas on our wedding. So far we've decided on having our "reception" at Old Lahaina Luau. We're still in the process of deciding where our ceremony will be held but what I want to know is would a wedding coordinator even be necessary for a ceremony? We don't plan on having our ceremony at OLL or at hotel venue. We were thinking possibly a beach or possibly Kukahiko Estate.

Re: Wedding Coordinator needed for ceremony?

  • In Hawaii a beach wedding does require a permit (I believe also liability insurance and what not too) and they do actually enforce the permit rule. I got married on Ulua beach in Maui and used a planner to secure the beach permit. If you look around you should be able to find someone who can do this for you relatively inexpensively. I also used my planner to secure our officiant as well.
