Bulk Candy

Did anyone here have/will have a candy bar? We are doing candy as our centerpieces for my reunion... and I am quickly realizing it will cost a little more then I thought...

Just looking for any suggestions on where to purchase! And any sites that were great... or disapointing, (specially we need gold and purple wrapped candy)

Thanks!

Re: Bulk Candy

  • I know @lyndausvi had one and bought wholesale candy. You might find some suggestions on the Favors board as well.

In general, I know people appreciate "good" candy versus color coordinated candy all day long. And that good candy goes on sale after Halloween. I can't remember, bubblegum, when is your wedding?

  • Getting married on Halloween so YES candy is happening. We're not having a candy bar, but we are buying all the good Halloween candy (fun-sized snickers, milky ways, reese's cups, and kit kats) and scattering them on tables -- both guests' tables and tables around the reception.

Planning to go to either BJ's (a wholesale club near me, not sure if it's regional) or order online at Oriental Trading. 1st world problem that I want to buy it now while I have money but the candy will won't be fresh by October so I have to wait.

  • @southernbelle95 It's for her high school reunion, not her wedding.

hmmmm Do the colors really matter? I think most people I know who have done candy bars just said screw the colors and bought like huge bags of hershey's kisses and m&ms at Walmart. I really don't think anyone would care if they are in gold wrappers or not.

  • We have limited decorations (combination of lack of funds and the room itself is just very pretty!) I have the left over vases from my wedding so we were just thinking of using those as centerpieces and candy would be the easiest to fill with.

We really want to keep with our school colors... again lack of decoration. I was thinking worse case just do Hershey kisses as those come wrapped in Purple and Gold. It would be nice to have a non chocolate option though...

The key is that we want everything wrapped because it's not a candy bar, so we don't have scoops and just want people to reach in and grab what they want.

    Reunion is May 29th.

  • So I went on amazon and bought a couple 60 piece boxes of lindor chocolates.....for 12 bucks!!! The price went up to 24, but that's still a pretty sweet deal. They taste fine! I thought for that price they might be stale or something.

  • Another rec for Oriental Trading. I just got one of their catalogs this week that had candy in various colors (obviously intended for weddings, but could work for this).
