PSA - The most comfortable work pumps in the universe

edited May 2015 in Chit Chat
So one of my friends who HATES to wear high heels happened upon the most comfortable pair of work pumps in the universe. She was telling us about them and another friend chimed in that Corporette had actually done a feature about these shoes and their cult following.

http://www.payless.com/womens-karmen-pump/70962.html?dwvar_70962_color=turquoise

I'm wearing them for the first time ever today and they live up to expectations. I've had them on since 7:30am and I'm just as comfortable as if I had been wearing a nice structured pair of flats. I even used my standing desk for about 2 hours. The best part is that they don't look like "sensible" shoes (read: like old lady shoes).

They're $25 at Payless, but if you wait until it's BoGo again, they're an even better deal. I literally bought 4 pairs.

  • THE LEOPARD ONES ARE $7.

You probably need them immediately. (I am a shoe shopping enabler)

  • I'm normally very particular about getting certain expensive shoes because a lot of the cheap ones at like forever 21 are made terribly and will kill my feet. But I must say, back in college I got a pair of stiletto knee high boots from Payless and those suckers were AMAZING. They were so comfortable, and everyone was always shocked when they asked what brand they were. So maybe I'll have to give these a try!

That's what a lot of the commenters on the Corporette feature said! That they thought they were past the payless shoes point in their life, but that these were totally worth going back for.

I tend to agree that if I can get a $100 pair of shoes to last a couple of years, I might as well get them over a $20 pair that will be ruined in a couple of months. But people go nuts over these particular styles, for some reason. We can't figure out what makes them so great. But they legitimately are one of the most comfortable pairs of heels I've ever put on.

  • I have a black patent pair from Nine West that look like the Karmen ones.  They are SUPER comfy.  And I've had them for at least 3 years and they still look great.  I'm loving a lot of those colors.  I'm especially obsessing over this Taupe color in this style:   http://www.payless.com/womens-patent-sliver-pump/75605.html

But alas I have way too many shoes and FI and I are on strict strict "holy crap we have a lot of shit to pay for this year" budget.

  • Crap.  I always forget there's a Payless just down the road.  I just bought a pair of really uncomfortable black pumps at Target for an interview when I couldn't find any of my other dress shoes and now I'm wishing I had gone to Payless instead.

I almost never wear pumps, so I'm not sure if I can make myself spend the money - but there is something about red and turquoise that's making my heart flutter just a little.
  • Hmm, I might have to consider getting a pair. I have a pair of black pumps from hell.  I hate pumps, entirely due to this pair.  They were too big, so I sent them back, and the next size down is what I kept.  I have worn them in two weddings now, and I wanted to cut my feet off at the end of the day. So much hurt. They pinched my toes something awful.

Maybe I'll have to try this brand.
  • My favorite wedges are from Nine West are not terribly expensive. I normally avoid pumps but at this price, worth trying right?! (I know yall are all saying yes so I'm going with that.)

I have those too - the round toe ones. I think I'm in between sizes so they're not as comfy as could be but still nice
  • I kind of want the bronze ones.

  • I have a pair of Jessica Simpson black pumps which have never gotten uncomfortable to wear, and which I've had for probably 4 years and worn regularly to work/church/etc. I really wish I could fine them for when this pair eventually does go.

But thanks for the heads up on these! I have a similar pair of mauve pumps which I could probably replace with another fun color.

  • I love those shoes, except they always fall apart super quickly for me. They are incredibly comfortable though!

My current favorite heels are my Franco Sarto black pumps. Got them 75% off and they're so nice. A bitch to break in but now they are incredibly comfy.

I'll have to check those out. I swore I'd never go to Payless again because I bought a couple uncomfortable crappy pairs.

  • Maybe I'll get a pair for a night of clubbing or something. I wear toms to work.

Yep, I don't tell people this but I wear those. I have in in a ton of colors (every season, they come out with different colors). They are so comfy. I currently have a pair of dark blue ones for emergencies under my desk.

I'm so excited to wear them in Vegas. Last time I was there I wore my most comfortable pumps, bought really nice insoles, and put a ton of moleskin on my feet and they were still killing me like an hour into the night. I walked a mile home in these last night and they were totally fine.

I can't speak on the pumps, but I swear by these flats from Payless. They are the only ones I wear anymore http://www.payless.com/womens-blaire-hardware-flat/72528.html?dwvar_72528_color=black_gold#start=3

I have those! Love them :) I was wearing a Target pair that had absolutely no support and they were KILLING my feet.

  • Mostly a lurker on this board but thanks OP for the PSA! Super excited to try these, they had them both long AND wide enough for me! Very rare to find that 11Wide in a cute shoe.
