I had the most bizarre wedding nightmare last night...
The building we're getting married in has a small-ish room for the ceremony off to the side, which opens up into this big atrium for the reception. In my dream, I get into my dress, get to the ceremony location, and my dad's aren't there to walk me down the aisle. I look ahead, and they're already at the front of the room. Ok, so I walk down the aisle by myself. Ceremony goes relatively smoothly. It's shorter than we expected, and the officiant forgets the part where we exchange rings, but we just do that part after the ceremony.
For some reason, I guess because it's beautiful outside, we decide that instead of the atrium, we want to have the reception in a park that's like 3 blocks away. We get there and a dance floor is set up, but there's no DJ. Ok, not a gigantic deal, we still have dinner first, so it's no rush, hopefully he'll be there by the time dinner is over. So everyone eats dinner, I leave to do something (can't remember - maybe dream me had to go to the bathroom?) and I get back and EVERYONE is gone. Literally every single guest has left. It's just me and DF (DH at this point, I guess). I am freaking out. Just like sobbing hysterically about how we didn't get to do our spotlight dances or toasts or cake cutting or anything and the entire day was ruined.
So we go back to the ceremony location to see if anyone is there for some reason, and to see if our DJ was there and maybe didn't get the memo about the location change. We walk into the atrium, and it's been set up as a restaurant. Couples and families and groups are sitting at tables and being served food and drinks. None of our friends and family are anywhere to be found, so we just slide into a booth (still in my wedding dress). I call my wedding coordinator to see what went wrong. I remember seeing her face in the crowd at the ceremony, because I know she was there. She just keeps making a whole bunch of excuses about why none of this is her fault and there's nothing she can do about it.
It was such a bizarre dream. I told DF about it when I woke up and he says "Well we'd never have to worry about the DJ not showing up - Derek (his friend from work that DJs on the side) would do it!" Thanks hun. Lol.
Any weird wedding dreams lately?
