Should we do Rock/Trash the Dress photos?

I have not gotten my pics back yet, just got married 5 days ago. But as I've been coming down from the high, I know there were a few poses that we didn't take.

My fiance probably won't be on board for more "wedding" stuff but I might be able to spin it to benefit him. (he could use shots for his comedy gigs)

Who took them and is glad about it? We'd wait until mid September when the weather is less hot I think.

We got so much attention walking the streets taking pics. An amubulance driver actually used his megaphone at a stop light to tell me I looked beautiful.  I guess I'd just like to recapture the day...

I am not doing them bc we got married in our home state with a photographer here and got a heck of a deal bc he is a friend of my Dad's. Of course we could get a photographer there, but we are pretty much broke from the wedding. Plus my dress was already preserved and I can't bear the thought of ruining it bc I love it so much.

I know it is very popular and girls even choose to do it together with another friend that got married recently. Some of the girls on my month board are waiting until the weather cools off as well.

Definitely do it!  Don't wait more than 5 years (like I've done) before taking more pictures, fun pictures, etc.

I now believe the conventional thought that your wedding day is IT, the only day to take photos, is dumb.  If I didn't follow that thought, I would have taken so many more photos, days, months, even years after, for whatever purpose.  The dress is paid for and will not likely be used again by future generations (if there are any), so it should be enjoyed however often you/we want.  I'm older and wiser to think this now, and I'm finally taking photos in my dress again in a months time (which is our anniversary).

Why only feel and see the most beautiful version of ourselves for only one day?

They look fun, but I'm thinking it's more of a cash grab from photographer's after the fact than anything.

Do it!  I'm totally going to.  40 years from now will you remember the time you preserved your wedding gown, or the awesome photos and memory that you'll have forever??

Depending what you do their are a bunch of organizations that will clean your dress and take it for a donations after the fact!

I definitely think you should!

This is your opportunity to get those forgotten "must takes" and be adventurous or silly without having to worry about messing up your dress! DH and I plan to take some asap.

I'm doing it! When it's cooler definitely.  Thankfully the photographer is a great friend of ours so he won't charge us much.  I think I need to start making a list (Geez, another wedding related list) of all the shots we didn't get yesterday that I would like.

DO it! Ours came with our photography package and it was a blast! And you don't actually have to trash it, it just might get a little dirty, but no more dirty than it gets on the wedding day!

We were going to do something like this when we go to my home state in November.  A lot of my family couldn't make it for health/financial reasons, so this will be our chance to get dressed up again and celebrate with those who couldn't be here.  Nothing formal like the wedding itself, but a chance for photos that we couldn't take here because of the heat and with family that I will wish I had photos with.

Has anyone done trash the dress day, meaning they took pics of the dress and actually went in the water.  Were you able to clean it, or did it ruin the dress?  I'm taking mine this sunday and not sure if i should get it wet or not.. Please help.

Just celebrated our 1 yr a few days ago and have been dying to do a TTD. I personally feel like if its in the budget why not? I loved our photographer, so more photos we could take with her would be worth it for me! My dress is just hanging in our son's closet, and I would love to wear it one more time and get some fun shots we missed. I am not worried about getting it wet or dirty or anything though.
