Wedding Gift for Aunt

My aunt bought me my wedding dress and I wanted to get her something special. Any ideas of gifts, she is one of those people that have it all, so it's hard to decide. Something more meaningful since it was my wedding dress she got made for me.

If she already has tons of stuff, why not gift her an experience? Take her to a spa and then out to lunch so you can have a fun day together or get her tickets to a touring broadway show or something like that.

  • I agree with all the suggestions above. I would only add that whatever you give her, also send her a thank you card.

  • If you wait until after the wedding, give her a portrait of you in the dress.  If she has everything, she probably doesn't need anything specific.  But seeing a picture of you, glowing with happiness, in the dress she bought will probably be very much appreciated!

Make a special point to get a picture of you in the dress With Her.  Sometimes those pictures, while often posed, of MOBs fastening up the fancy buttons on the back of the bride's dress with the bride looking over her shoulder and smiling are super cute.  (As long as the emotion is real, I don't care if she's actually doing up the buttons or not.)
  • My grandmother bought my dress.  I wrote her a heartfelt thank-you card just after we selected the dress.  I plan to give her a nice framed picture of the two of us from the wedding and a small album of pictures of her side of the family at the wedding, along with another thank-you card.  She's another of those "has it all" types and doesn't need a physical gift, but she'll enjoy the pictures.

  • That was really nice of her! I wouldn't worry too much about a gift though, but a really super heartfelt thank you card should definitely be given.
