NWR: Stressed with work

I am over stressed right now and I'm freaking out. I have no clue what to do and I feel like I'm close to snapping. It's mostly work related and my boss blaming me for shit that's not my fault at all & that I have no control over. I want to just scream I quit but I know that we need the money (no matter how small of an amount it is).

Plus on top of it all I am trying to cut back on my soda / caffeine intake so I'm sure that's not helping any.

Sorry just had to vent.

Re: NWR: Stressed with work

  • I was in a similar situation very recently.  Very stressed out and feeling like I was about to snap, and getting blamed for things that were not remotely my fault.  So, I started working my network and put it out there with a few people that I was looking for a new spot.  A great company that I used to be a client of at an old job, offered me a job that's closer to home, with better benefits.  I start June 8th.  So, what's stopping you from looking for another job?  It may not happen right away, but at least for me, knowing there were other options out there helped me relax at my current job.

And yeah, don't try and quit caffeine when you're stressed out from other things... that can make you not handle things appropriately.

I am looking for another job but it's taking a while because my husband and I can't afford for me to go backwards in my career. I need a job equal or greater to what I am currently doing.

I second that. It takes time but I hope you all the best and wish you lots of luck!

I hope so. In the meantime, I just have to find a way to relax.
  • I've been there and it stinks. Do the best job you can, and just keep all the back-up to show that you've done what you're supposed to do. Be prepared to (calmly and professionally) refute any blaming from your boss. And be kind to yourself outside work and do whatever you like to do to de-stress.
