Nevada-Las Vegas

My FI says don't worry about it....

I'm about 2 weeks out and I know exactly how I want my nails done. My question is should I just do it here in Sacramento before I leave (3 days before my wedding) or should I do it the day before in Vegas? I have a lot to do before the actual ceremony at the home we rented. Did you ladies wait or should I take my FI's advice and just do it at home before I leave? For those that think I should do it in Vegas who did you you use?

Thank in advance!

  • I am getting married in August and I plan on getting my nails done here in MD before we leave. I usually get the gel manicure which lasts for at least 2 weeks so I think I'll be safe.

I love the gel - I try not to get it all the time since it's not great for your nails but befor vacations or special occasions I usually splurge.
  • @kgales1 First of all...I love you for the gif...Titus is my boo!!

I hate getting my nails done. My natural nails grow and look like fakes...but I wanted something special for my big day.

  • I've been meaning to ask this, I was really hoping people could recommend somebody great in Vegas and I can never find glowing recommendations. I also wanted someone to do it in suite but there seems to be nothing like that - I think I should train in nail tech and move to Vegas to fill that gap :) I can't be the only one to want that?

I second the 14 day gel nails - best thing ever. I have it done for all my vacations and will be getting it done before I leave the UK to travel to Vegas.
  • I haven't heard of any good nail places in Vegas, surprisingly. I wonder if the hair and makeup vendors could recommend a good place that won't break the bank.  I love the place I go to at home so I am just going to make it a point to get them done before we leave.

thegreens15 Have you gotten the gel done before?  I hate getting  my nails done too because I am so impatient but these are dry before you leave the store and they don't chip or fade.  I think if you get them done 3 days before your wedding they should still look pristine for your wedding day. I am following the same timeline. I am getting mine done on Sunday and wedding is the Wednesday after.

Also, Kimmy Schmidt is incredible. Titus needs to be nominated for an Emmy this year.  :)
  • My wife did hers day before leaving; much less stress having it done by someone she knows how the outcome will be.

  • I would do them before leaving at your usual salon.

BUT if you want a recommendation I would use La Belle Nail Spa on Eastern and 215 (since you're renting a house I'm assuming you also have a car).  I've only had them done once there (I don't usually get mine done) but was very happy with it and it's one of my BMs favorite spots.

I'm getting them done before I leave home (4 days before the wedding).
  • @kgales1...I did one time and I liked the result. But I didn't like the removal process at all.

  • I did mine in Vegas and LOVED them. I did have to go off-strip and had my car. I went to Diamond Nails. My sister is VERY picky and she even loved hers.

  • I was going to get mine done beforehand, just to have one less thing to do. Also, we won't have a car, and every place on or near the strip is CRAZY expensive.

Fun fact: I'll be getting my nails done for the first time. Ever. Never had a manicure or a pedicure in my life.

  • I read about Diamond Nails, they do seem to have the best reviews out of everyone I read about!

Thank you for this recommendation, I just looked at the reviews for them and the pictures on Yelp and they look amazing! I will be going here :) Exactly what I was looking for!
  • Yay! I loved my nails..they were so much fun and the price was really reasonable for being Vegas. Much cheaper than the salons at the casinos.

  • @hmgiffor I am going to check them out on Yelp. We will have a vehicle so travel won't be an issue.

  • I got all my hair, makeup, mani and pedi done at the Wynn Spa the day of the wedding. I was pleased with all services. However recommend getting a pedi days prior - with the dry heat, my feet were dry and raw - so my feet were sore for days after the wedding.

Granted I said I was pleased with all services, however the mani was the least favorite out of the four..the nail polish started chipping the next day and everyone who got their mani at the spa experienced the same thing. The odd thing is the Wynn uses Essie and OPI nail polish. Once again, don't know if it was the dry heat, however recommend getting this done day of and not prior to-there's tons of opportunities to ruin your nails before the ceremony.

I got mine done at home with a bottle of my own nail polish so that I could have it with me incase I needed to touch it up.  I had mine done Thursday before we left and our vow renewal was on Monday.  Thankfully mine held up and I didn't have to do any touch ups.

  • I love this @trm358 Thank you!
