Tuesday

G'day! What's going on? What's on your mind?

- I ran yesterday! Without stopping! H and I did 1.3 miles (a loop around the neighborhood) in 14 minutes. I wanted to stop SO much SO many times but I powered through. I'm pretty impressed with myself. H is too :)

- I started my mason jar project last night! I was skeptical but as you can see in the pic I'm so excited that it's going to work! I'll finish it tonight and I can't wait to see it with candles.

- H and I have been together for 8 years today. Eight whole years! I can't even believe it's been that long. I posted a picture collage thing that includes a photo from each year we've been together and it's so funny seeing how much we've grown up since 2007. I can't wait to get home and smooch his face off.

- It's apparently supposed to rain on Saturday which is bad. I need it to wait until Sunday. PLEASE.

  • @Swazzle - Congrats on 8 years!!! That's almost a decade! Don't worry about the weather, it isn't going to rain on Saturday because I say so.

  • @swazzle good for you on the running! I love the mason jars, they came out really well! Happy anniversary to the two of you!

Today is pretty uneventful. Just work, then cleaning my kitchen/mudroom. It's always a disaster after the weekend from throwing shopping bags on there, junk, tools etc. I have to give the cats their flea medication for the month, so that should be fun too.....

Last night I made ST turkey meatballs and they were so good. I put them on hoagie rolls with some mozzarella cheese and threw them under the broiler. Then I watched "Wild". It was a good movie, but I think I would like it better if I read the book too.

  • @Swazzle - We ran last night, too! Great job on not stopping... I wanted to stop last night, especially the last little bit. Your mason jar project is so cute. I want to do something like that along our fence in the backyard, for a little ambiance.

Yesterday I got almost 14,000 steps (woo-hoo!!!). It was a super busy day, too. I managed to clean the house, cook dinner, and go on a run last night.

Tonight I need to make a lasagna and take it to a neighbor. She had surgery and I signed up to bring a meal tonight. So I guess I have to be super on top of everything when I get home from work, so I can get the lasagna to her before it's too late. I still can't decide if I should cook it or take it over there and put it in the oven for her.
  • @swazzle - DAYUM girl. I can't run 1.3 miles in 14 minutes... you were flying! No wonder you wanted to die ;) I loved your collage idea. I might (ok, I'm definitely going to) steal it next week when DH and I hit 7 years.

I have a massage scheduled for this afternoon. I'm going to try to go regularly (every 3-4 weeks) to avoid that whole hamstring/knee debacle I spent 6 months rehabbing. I know other people love massages, but I don't. It's more something I tolerate than enjoy. But if it helps me stay healthy, it's worth it.

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • @Swazzle - 8 years! Congrats! Also, congrats on the running...I couldn't run to save my life. I think H and I ran for a flight once and I tapped out after like 5 minutes.

@buddysmom80 - I've been wanting to see Wild but wasn't sure about it. Maybe I'll check it out after.

@CocoBellaF - That is SUPER nice of you to make your neighbor food post-surgery.

@cu97tiger - I hope you somewhat enjoy your massage. Why don't you enjoy them generally? I'm not thrilled to have a complete stranger touch me but give me a scalp massage any day of the week and I'll take it.

    ------------------------------------------------
Yesterday was raining so I couldn't plant the rest of our plants...here is hoping I can do it today. Otherwise, today is work, work, work and hitting the gym or at least walking the 5 miles home. Yesterday I was working from 7 am to 8 pm (with like 15 minutes for lunch) so, yeah, no gym yesterday. I was in such a rush this morning too...H's alarm didn't go off and I didn't set a backup so I managed to get myself ready, the dog ready, the trash out and H's breakfast cooked all within 25 minutes but it was tight. I'm setting a backup alarm tomorrow.

  • @Swazzle - 1.4miles without stopping - You should be super proud of yourself!! The Mason Jars look good, I can't wait to see how it turns out either. Congrats on your 8 year anniversary of being with your H!

@CocoBellaF - Wow 14,000 steps is great in a day! I'm lucky to get 7000 with my job and laziness. If it's a neighbor you like to talk to, I would bake it over there and keep her company, if it's somebody that you're not too fond of cook it first. That's cool that your neighborhood does that.

    @cu97tiger - Enjoy your massage!

@minskat30 - Hopefully the rest of the day goes better and it didn't mess with your routine that much (other than 25 minutes to get ready).

@Hummingbird125 - Hope your boss calls off/isn't in today! Hope you feel better as well!

    Good Morning ladies

I am so tired and out of it today (it's been overcast and grey and I haven't been able to get a non-restless night of sleep in a few days). Between the dogs on-the-bed-off-the-bed repeat and then H coming to bed and waking me up (not on purpose) and just bad dreams - uhg! Enough of my whining though . . .

Last night H and I cut all but 2 of the remaining storm damage branches. The last 2 are not laying any weight on anything and I just need to get my other ladder that is currently at H's house back and we can trim away the very very last of the broken branches.

I emailed back and forth with a realtor and just took every land that has HOAs off my list. There's just too much and too many restrictions. I want to move to the country to have MORE freedom and those things give me a lot LESS freedom!

Tonight Nessie goes to the vet, it looks like she has the start of a skin infection <<Again>>. I also have to pick up her 'I got my rabies shot' certificate and see if they'll trim Loki's nails. After that we will watch the Cavs vs Warriors (Go Cavs!).

  • @minskat30 - I have a low pain threshold, so for me, they are somewhat painful. After all the PT I've gone through recently, I'm probably better equipped to deal with that now than I used to be.

@hummingbird125 - I am so jealous of your 12 bottles of wine! We have two bottles of red and one box (yes, box) of white at home.... and that's it!

  • @cu97tiger - Well, I was SO EXCITED when I brought them home, thinking - if I drink a bottle a week, this wine will last me three months! And then H finished a bottle himself and I finished half a bottle. In one night. So.... maybe it'll last us a couple of weeks? Good thing we're going back to my mom's house in 2 weeks where we left the other 12 bottles we couldn't fit in the car... I guess we'll be needing those as well!

  • @Swazzle - Good job on the running! Sticking with it is half the battle, I think! I typically want to give up on every run I do at about half a mile in, but once I get over that hoop I manage okay.

I had waaaaay too much wine at dinner last night, so combine that with my allergies and I am dragging this morning. I barely have any voice, so my students are getting movie day today.

Tonight I teach Zumba and have ballet class. Pretty standard, boring day.

@cu97tiger - Ugh, that sucks. I hate when massages hurt. Actually the first massage I every had was in law school at age 23 during a study abroad in Budapest (my girlfriends convinced me to try one). Yeah, my masseur was Igor the Giant and he left me black and blue from the pressure...I didn't try another one for years after that. I hope yours goes ok today.

@Dignity100 - I'm sorry to hear about the sleepless nights. You are a better person than me...Rajah isn't allowed up on the bed. He's a space hog and would take up half of our King size bed if we let him up...plus he's known for the "Pyr paw" and would smack us in the middle of the night. Hope you get sleep tonight.
  • @Swazzle that mason jar project is so cute! Can't wait to see the final project! And I agree that it can't rain Saturday because that is when we are supposed to go out for my birthday and I want to go somewhere outdoors!!

@CoCoBella What a nice thing to do for your neighbor!

@cu97tiger I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow night! Hope you enjoy yours!!

Not too much going on over here! Tonight is the last night I am free for a few days. Tomorrow night I have a massage to try to work out the kink in my neck that is bothering me, Thursday is the night I go see the medium, Friday night is my cousin's college graduation party, Saturday we are supposed to be going out for my birthday, and Sunday is my birthday! So it's going to be busy!!

  • @buddysmom80 - YUM! That dinner sounds amazing. I love those meatballs.

@CocoBellaF - It was really easy too! THIS is the post I found that I'm following.

@cu97tiger - That sucks that you don't enjoy massages. Most of the time when I go for one, I tell them I want to relax as opposed to having them dig knots out of my back. You should try that and/or tell them that you're sensitive and need less pressure.

@minskat30 - I'm so not a runner or anything active for that matter. I think it was just because I was following H and I wanted to keep up with him and show off hahaha

@hummingbird125 - I want that pizza and I'm selfishly glad you're back from your HM :)

@Dignity100 - I hope Nessie feels better soon!

@lavenderfields13 - If I have to have rain on Saturday just so that you have sunshine, I will do it! FOUR DAYS!!!!!!! Is today your last day of work? What do you have left to take care of this week?

@bethsmiles - All the vibes heading your way!

  • @twodimes that's so sweet!

@caseface5 is your BF going to the medium with you? Or is this a separate trip to the medium?

@bethsmiles I hope you can awesome new job asap!

@blue & white my friend texts me random timehops that I wrote on her wall like 6 years ago. We can never figure out what they mean lol. Like that last one she sent me I wrote on her wall "I will fight you" obviously it was a joke but we have no idea what it was about lol

  • @lavenderfields13 He is not coming. He really appreciated the thought but he is afraid he would cry and get super emotional in front of 75 people, so he doesn't want to do that. I sold his ticket to a friend of mine, and actually had a cousin that wanted it too so I bought her one so there will be three of us going.

  • @swazzle thank you, I appreciate your being willing to deal with the rain lol. I keep saying that my karma shouldn't be that bad that I have thunderstorms on my wedding day!

Yes today is my last day of work. I was supposed to work tomorrow but yesterday I decided I needed to take Weds off too because I'd be a mess. Today I'm leaving early to get my eyebrows done and have my hair colored and bangs cut. I still have to wash the other half of cylinders for my candle centerpieces and pack all that shit away. FI has to paint something on the top of our seating board and then that's done. I need to finish up WP gifts. I need to print signs for the bar, cupcake table & cigar "bar" and get frames for them all. Tomorrow my parents will probably be helping me load as many boxes into my car and their car as we can. I need to pack a bag so we have everything we need for the weekend so we can get out of the house on time on Thursday.

  • @minskat30 - Loki does the "pyr paw" - he barely does it to me, he usually gets H with it pretty good though... and he's taught it to Nessie. Nessie is usually the one who sleeps on the bed... she lays her 135lbs across my legs/feet and I let her get away with it <sigh>... their comfort comes before my own.

@TwoDimes - You are getting married soon!!

@KeptInStitches - Well, you're just one step closer to being done with your dissertation!

@Swazzle - The skin infections never seem to bother Nessie. She just doesn't let her belly air out and she's ALWAYS got a wet belly (I swear that dog would find a puddle in a dessert to lay in). She goes to the groomer on Sunday, so they'll trim her belly fuzz down to help out.

  • @caseface5 that's understandable. Does he have any interest in going privately?
Who are you going to see, Maureen Hancock?

  • @lavenderfields13 Yes he mentioned that he would like to go to a private reading with just him and I. I'm not seeing Maureen, I'm seeing her niece Anastasia Grace who I have seen before and she is amazing!!

  • @lavenderfields13 - So exciting! Just in case, I hope you have an amazing day, everything is perfect, and I can't wait to see pictures!

  • @swazzle Happy anniversary! I made a collage for our 5 year and my bf called me a nerd.

@hummingbird125 I'm jealous of all that wine!

@lavenderfields13 happy wedding week!!!! Fingers and toes crossed that the weather cooperates!

@dignity100 good plan to avoid the HOAs. They can be nice, but I hate that so many of them make their neighborhoods all cookie cutter.

@cu97tiger Hopefully you're able to enjoy your massage. If it is painful, tell them to use less pressure. I can't handle the deep tissue massages, and always have to tell my masseuse to use less pressure.

Last night I spent some time with my mom since I haven't seen her since before I left for vacation. She started her cardiac rehab yesterday and was beating herself up for being the youngest there. We watched PLL since the new season is now on Hulu so I can actually watch episodes if I'm not at my sister's. Omg that episode was intense.

Tonight I'll be going to my sister's for dinner and PLL night. Carpet installers told my bf he needed the trim done before carpet will be installed, so he's hauling booty to get that done. Hoping we can get them in next week to install the carpet. We're going to put off the backsplash in the kitchen until after we move in. But plan on moving in as soon as the carpet is installed.

  • @swazzle - go you!! 1.3 miles is awesome!!!

@cu97tiger - jealous of your massage. BF got me a couples massage for my bday last month but with our work schedules i have no idea when we will get to use it.

@lavenderfields13 - fingers crossed for a clear day on saturday!

@blue&white - im sure there are tons of embarrassing things on FB. i just dont use timehop though so i dont see them. :) i did re-read my online journal from 9th/10th grade though and the things i put in there are awful. DETAILED accounts of my sexual activities with my then-bf. wtf was i thinking????

@hummingbird125 - where did you HM?

today is blah. i weighed in and was the same as last week. i was so good all week except for my salty indulgences on sunday. i hope this is just water and will come off in the next few days. i feel like it is. im trying to stay motivated but DAMMIT i want the scale to move.

quick question for everyone..... i used to live in NC but moved back to MA in may 2014. i went back to NC for a visit in sept 2014. since then i have one close friend, we will call her B, who has talked about coming up to boston for a visit but hasnt done anything about it. all winter B kept saying ill come when its warm. well....its june 9 and no plans have been made. personally i know how hard it is coordinating schedules (right now i have 4 weekends left before labor day that i dont have plans) so i feel like before we know it, summer will be over. she will casually mention "oh i need to plan a trip" but never actually does anything about it. for instance a few weeks ago she said she misses me and i said we should arrange a visit in boston. she said she thinks shes free june 13 weekend. i said me too, you should book a flight! i even checked prices quickly and told her they were pretty low actually. she said ok ill think about it......then never brought it up again. what do i do? i dont feel like i should have to beg my friend to come see me.....but on the other hand i want to understand what the deal is.
  • @KeptInStitches - Go back to dissertation-land and get those revisions done!! It feels so good when you get them done! One of my advisors told me he went through 3 pens on my second chapter alone...but when I got in there I realized most of his comments were stylistic and didn't require massive amounts of reworking, which was nice. You can do it!
  • @jenjen047 It sounds like she is just saying it to be polite, but doesn't really ever intend to make plans. I would just let it go. If you really want to see her, you may need to be the one to make plans.
