Wedding Recap and Withdrawal

its over!

Well my wedding was 9/4. It was a beautiful day, some of the nicest weather that we have had in a long time here in MN! We had a good guest turn out, the photographer was wonderful, the florist did an amazing job, I dont ever want my bouquet to die!! anyone know any tricks for making it last longer? i plan on picking out some flowers to dry, then im going to put them in the unity candle vase we have. The reception hall was absolutely beautiful, the cake/cupcakes were wonderful, the dj just rocked, everyone loved him. So many peiple have told me that they had so much fun! I am just so pleased. My dress was gorgeous, the guys and girls in the wedding looked so awesome, the flower girl was adorable and even our two year old nephew who was the ring bearer did an amazing job! he walked down the aisle with a huge smile on his face, and didnt cry the entire day! :) Wow oh wow. Is it normal to be a  little down in the dumps that its over? Because I totally am!!!

Re: its over!

  • Congrats, sounds like you had a wonderful day.
it is normal to feel that way, just try to find things to keep your mind off of it.

Jennrose, I had my wedding the day after you (9/5), and I'm going through withdrawal as well, esp. since I had 18 months to plan my wedding!  Just know that you are in good company!
  • Mine was a month ago.  Stay in the present moment, don't look back on pictures or mementos from the wedding alone, because it will make you sad that you went from being supported and surrounded by all those who loved you to all the sudden being in a moment alone.  Make sure you have your spouse and maybe even a few other best friends or family members around when you look at some pictures, and then go out and do something fun afterwards.  YOu have to keep in mind that the purpose of the day was to start something, so get the ball rolling on that something.

  • I am really sad too.. I almost cried the day after looking at my dress realizing I will never in  my life wear it again.. it wasn't as bad because we left monday for our honeymoon so i had another week not to think about it... but we got back yesterday night and im soo depressed right now.. all i want to do is cry that its over... i wish that day and our honeymoon could last forever..
