www.fitgown.com Has anyone used?

Hello All - I have just started the search for dresses and as most of you know Pinterest can be amazing as well as disappointing because they have so many beautiful dresses posted that are out of ones budget!!  WAY OUT of budget.

Well I came across a website that has some of these dream dresses for really cheap!
www.fitgown.com
It seems way too good to be true so if someone has ordered a dress from here or knows anything about this site please let me know!!!!!!!

Re: www.fitgown.com Has anyone used?

  • I wouldn't order from there if someone else paid for it. All of those photos are taken from the official website of the dress and not pictures of the dress you're actually going to get. Not worth it, at all. "If it's too good to be true, it usually is."

Davids Bridal has cost effective dresses. Or pay attention to trunk sales at local bridal salons. Bridesmaid dresses in white/ivory are also a great alternative.

  • Yea, this looks like a chinese knockoff site. Don't do it.

Here's a link to people's experiences with chinese knockoff sites (not to mention their awful and money grubbing "customer service"):

  • That is what I thought...I was just hoping lol

I'm on a super tight budget and I don't like anything from David's Bridal because the only good stuff they have is strapless and I can't do those

Keep your eye out for DB's $99 sales. Just talk to DB about whatever style you're looking at and ask the seamstress if they could add straps - most of the time they can. This might open some doors for you. Also take a look at www.preownedweddingdresses.com if you'd be ok with buying used.

What's your budget and what kind of dress do you think you want? The ladies on this board are pretty good about helping find stuff you might like.

  • Try white/ivory (or whatever color you want) bridesmaid's dresses or other formal gowns. Also check out  Nordstrom's, Macy's or other formal dress stores for formal dresses.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Try Alfred Angelo dresses.  Mori Lee can also be budget friendly.

You cannot possibly choose your dress by looking at photo-shopped pictures.  You need to try the dresses on in person.  They will look completely different on you.  Any good seamstress can easily add straps or even sleeves to a strapless dress.

Read my sticky at the top of the board.

  • Target even has a cute bridesmaid line, with white or ivory choices, and even has wedding dresses. Low prices, free shipping, sales and easy returns. Worth checking out if you're on a budget. My bridesmaids dresses were from there and several of them ordered two sizes to be sure, and then returned whichever wasn't best. Good luck!

OMG! Thank you for this!!  I actually really like a lot of these and I'm sure my BMs will be thrilled with the prices since they're already going to have to travel for the wedding!

Make sure that you ask each of them individually what their budget it for a dress. That way you are not guessing and making that decision for them.

Absolutey! I've checked with all but one of them so far, and I'm meeting up with her this week. :)

  • I used a website which was really cheap and I thought too good to be true but I love my dress! It came out just how I pictured it and I couldn't find anything like it at David's Bridal. I checked BBB (Better Business Bureau) and the shop had decent ratings, the only complaint I found sounded like the complainer was just psychotic. I also called the owner of the shop and just expressed my concern on how cheap the dress was and she explained that her shop is small and everything is made to order so she keeps no dresses in shop which reduces overhead etc... She set my mind at ease and I ordered through her. I did sit down with my fiance and told him the risks and he agreed that if I got it and it was awful we could buy my second choice dress at David's Bridal. But we didn't have to because my dress is perfect.

So my advice is if you do want to buy from a website check out BBB and see if they have decent reviews and it also doesn't hurt to call the owner, if they want your business and aren't trying to scam you they will take the time to address your concerns.

  • All of the Chinese sites copy from photos and not from real gowns.  There are two legitimate sites I know of to save money.  They are pearlsplace.com and Netbride.  Both are real bridal stores that do sell real dresses for less.
  • Hey.. Lightinthwbox.com sells wedding dresses and all kinds of dresses. I have had nothing but GOOD experiences with them. I bought a dress for 2 military balls
