French Polynesia Help

FI and I are thinking FP for our honeymoon next year (May 2016) and I have no idea where to start. Our budget is around 8K, but I would love to do it for less is possible. Bora Bora looks to be the most expensive, so what other islands should we look at?

$8K will be tight, especially if that includes food and drink, if you want to spend time on Bora Bora in an OWB. I recommend doing a stay on Moorea in a garden bungalow for 4 nights and then heading to Bora Bora and doing  3 nights there (maybe 4 depending on the resort/room you choose on Moorea.) Moorea is usually the least expensive option to add on to a trip because you can take the ferry there from Papeete and it's usually priced less than Bora Bora. One other option would be to look into Huahine. IMHO, having been to both places, I like Moorea better. But, Huahine is super quiet and a great place to visit if you are into the cultural history of the islands. It's also less developed- there are only two resorts there.

 

I HIGHLY recommend working with a Tahiti Specialist travel agent to plan your trip. you want to work with someone who has been there and know what will best suit you. I would try Googling"Tahiti Specialist" or "Tahiti Specialist agent" or you can go to Tahiti Tourisme's website and search by state, city, or zip.

I also came her to suggest Moorea. Absolutely beautiful.
