Bridesmaid proposals

Sorry that this thread is kinda zombified, but since there was a recent response... I'll be honest: I texted them. Am I horrible? I don't live near any of them because I moved away, and we were texting happy things about the engagement and I just asked. I did plan to ask one of them in person at lunch when I was visiting, but she got sick and canceled so I just asked her via text, too. I guess I suck for not making it super special?

As far as how I've been asked -- My cousin called me. Another bride sent me a card - a handwritten one. And I can't precisely recall the one from 7 years ago but I'm sure it was over the phone or in person. No gifts involved. I was not offended in the slightest.

I don't think that's terrible if that's how you regularly communicate.  I got told by email that a friend of mine was pregnant.  She had been planning to tell me at dinner, but we kept cancelling on each other, so she ended up just telling me by email.  It's how we regularly communicate when we're not seeing each other in person, and it's how we plan to see each other in person.

Yeah, I've always though these seemed a tad ridiculous, but to each their own.  I texted my best friend and I think my exact words were "so I'm gonna need like brides people.  You in?", but as I said, to each their own.
